Pikey you missed out the following... All Male DJ line up (how sexist would that be ? ) Another female Dj for you all, Maxine Woon.
  3. There is a seller on ebay at the moment, also from Las Vegas, member since 2001, with only 4 feedback left. Dunno if this could possibly be same seller, but listing Royal Esquires amongst others. Just seemed strange to me so soon after someones account was closed? Sellers name is MISCHINO, might be worth asking questions before bidding. Hopefully it's not related, but better safe than sorry.
  4. I'm sure Colin (Soulsmith) was offered a complete set about 6 months ago for £800. Dunno if he took them up on the offer though. 5. The only problem I can see with smokers outside events, is if neighbours complain about noise. The above post states possibly speakers outside or at least still being able to hear the music. If this venue is in a residential area, then this could lead to complaints about noise (music, people talking). This in turn could lead to noise limiters or licences being revoked. How many pubs and clubs have you been to recently, where there's signs saying please respect our neighbours and leave quitely? This is just an observation about possibly another thing promoters, club owners will have to take into consideration. Also stated is that the onus is on the club owner/management to police the ban. But if promoters don't assist them, how long before venues are lost because of club owners/managers being fined?
  6. Will the old mobile discos be banned from using smoke machines?
  7. I did notice on here one member ask for value of a couple of records (graded as vg++). The values other members put on them were approximately £300 & £400. Then the member lists them both for sale at £500 & £550. Not only that, but the ones for sale are graded as NM. Why ask for values if you're going to disregard them? Why not just stick the price on them that you want for them? As for buying off here I haven't had any problems previously, but saying that I'm still waiting for one record that I sent off for on 25 May (I must stress that the seller isn't a SS member).
  8. Earlier this evening on Trinny & Susannah they had Suspicion by the Originals playing as background music. Anyway not having heard it for a while, just reminded me of hearing the Detroit Prophets version that I used to hear at scooter runs back in the 80's. I seem to recall that I read somewhere that The Detroit Prophets version was actually just The Originals speeded up. Was this the case? Also did the track ever get a legitimate release on vinyl?

Sure there was a topic on this somewhere the other month.
  11. So now we have... northern, modern, 60's, 70's, Y2K, crossover, classic soul, club soul, r'n'b and now Northern Modern. Have I missed any out?

    What you retiring then?
  13. This sold for the princely sum of £1.50.

    Here's how mine went...

When buying I look at the grades people have listed, but this isn't to say their idea of NM, EX or any other grade you want to mention, is the same as mine! I have got one record on sale on Ebay at the moment, I haven't graded it. I've simply stated that it plays fine on my turntable, which it does. However, if it doesn't play on someone elses turntable as well how can I be responsible for that? For the record whats the difference between VG++ and EX?
  16. I got a pair from Dundeedavie off here cheap, dunno if he's still got any. As can be seen in this picture of a record I'm trying to sell on ebay, although I'd have better luck selling the bloody middles!
  17. Something I couldn't quite bring myself to ask, glad someone did though. Keep up the scans please Roger.
  18. Well I liked them. The following pictures are courtesy of Mr Manships rarest of the rare pages (there's also a couple of soundclips on there page 72).
  19. I started a topic about this when I first joined soul source. I was watching it on ebay started at $6.99 and ended up at $6000 if memory serves me right. I remember there was a couple of soundclips on the ad which was unusual for the seller. Anyway both sides were quality just which I'd had $6001 at the time.
  20. >> The Spinners - (She's Gonna Love Me) At Sundown - VIP 25054 << I've had this copy stuck on top of my desk for about a year. I've listed it twice on Ebay before with no takers, so I'm hoping third time lucky. Anyway bidding starts at the staggeringly high price of 99p!
  21. Next time your down the car boot sale, they'll be asking £50 each for copies of Supremes Baby Love, because in The Sun it says they could be worth loads!
  22. No I don't spit & polish my jack boots, I have a lackey for such mundane tasks as those.
  23. If it was me, then I wouldn't have any passouts after 11pm. If this is advertised in someway on flyers etc., then there can be no misunderstandings on policy. There can be no excuses then if people are forewarned. I'm sure that most people go out to do's to listen to the music and not for a cigarette. Most promoters put on events for the music, not to put on a smoking event, don't they?
  24. No. I think you need to get out more.
