Airedale, is there any chance of some label scans or pictures of them, this might give people(the more knowledgable about prices) a better idea of value.

I paid just under £30 for my Bobby Taylor off Ebay last month. Try and get the issue because it's got "Blackmail" on the other side which makes it a great double header. I know you can get promos of Blessed or Blackmail, with same track on both sides for £20 from Manships.

One other thing, Roger Stewart has a listing of all the UK released motown singles, on his site at Boogaloo Records.

Only heard it on my computer, not out at any do, but don't think it's all that. I can honestly say I wouldn't buy it if it was £30 let alone £3000!

I was sitting here pondering something the other night. People keep mentioning about records that are cheap now and that may become more expensive to buy in the future (cheapies becoming biggies). Or they talk about when they bought records for 50p that now go for a few hundred pounds and upwards, but have there been any that have come down drastically in price? For instance I bought Danny Moore - Somebody New on Allrite for £35 from a member on here. Whilst speaking to Brett at Prestatyn he remarked that he'd paid more for his copy in the past. Not too sure, but think he said in the past someone had paid £800 for a copy! I first heard it on that 4 CD box set Sought After Soul and in the notes it says that someone was going to sell a car to get a copy. Mind you it didn't state the value of the car. Anyway getting to the point, have there been any records that when first discovered/played out cost a fortune, but can now be picked up for next to nothing?

Col, I think it was first released in 2004, I could be wrong though. Also there was a thread on here once, where a national radio station had it up for nomination to be single of the year, but that was at least a year ago.

What do you base that statement on? What makes you think the cheaper items won't be quality? As for where to start to collect again, internet sites, ebay, dealers at do's, car boot sales, secondhand record shops, this site.

It never really bothers me how much other people pay for their records. I know what I can afford to buy and what I can't and that's all that matters to me.
