  1. Now he has The Fabulous Temptresses appearing at his club.
  2. Wasn't there a programme on TV a few years back with Angela Griffin in. A group called The Tallahassies or something similar? The lead singer apparently had given Angela's characters mum one, behind the Casino apparently! I think Ian McShane was in it as well. Just found it...Soul Survivors
  3. Somebody did, it went for £1000! I first heard the instrumental version on the freeview history channel. I was watching that two men in a trench series. It was playing in the background, whilst the two blokes were cycling round the former site of RAF Hornchurch!
  4. Is this a genuine rariety? I was browsing on Ebay and came across this, Billy Harner - What About The Music - Instrumental. Bidding currently stands at £255 and it still hasn't reached it's reserve! What value would you put on it considering the vocal version sells for a tenner?
  5. I'd be interested to see some record dealers answer this question.
  6. Were the Imber crowd Upfront or In-Bred?
  7. I got my copy off Ebay, mind you that was a couple of years ago.
  8. Jammy Git, I've got to do a late turn yet!
  9. Shane! You've missed one! I'm just surprised he hasn't moved this topic to, look in your box.

  11. I would class this as full on Northern. Jackie Lee - P-E-R-S-O-N-A-L-I-T-Y (Mirwood) Sorry haven't got a sound clip.
  12. Col, you can't get much more mental than Marsha Gee's, Peanut Duck!
  13. Pete, You should put on the dressing gown & slippers you won last year, then put your feet up and watch the TV that came with them and relax. I dunno, the joys of being a record dealer. I hope your leg/ankle gets better soon. Ian.
  14. A fiver, I'll pay you when I get to Prestatyn.
  15. Why break the habit of a lifetime?
  16. It's not me! Just incase anyone thought it was. Ian.
  17. I wonder how much he'll get for the Clarence Hill?
  18. You've got mail!
  19. I'd agree with your missus!
  20. Does anyone have a tracklisting for the £4.99 CD in Woolies? Also the title would be handy, so that I can pop down my local branch and purchase a copy, thanks.
  21. Sorry Paul, but I don't agree. I buy a record because I like it, not as an investment to make a profit. I thought this is what everyone else did, or am I mistaken? Ian.
  22. At this moment in time £5 is shocking to me!
  23. Listening to a great record being played, find out the title & artist, then you find out the cost of obtaining a copy!
  24. I am not going to try and defend anyone on this board, but can I just say this. Quite a lot of the people who post on this board are alot more knowledgeable (artists, labels, writers, producers, etc.,) about Soul records than me. Quite a lot of them can have a way with words and can be very opinionated about stuff, things we don't always agree on, but when you meet them the majority of them are completely different to how you'd imagine (all of them except Lagerlout ). As for the bullying/snobby impression, I've learnt to not take all comments to heart. Because most of the time they're made tongue in cheek IMO. The problem with the written word is you can't always tell in which tone it was meant to be taken. As for the records that you love, I agree with what you said. Just take a peek at my top 5 sounds on the other topic.
  25. Followed by The Meteors - Wrecking Crew, then Matt Parsons Orchestra - Boogaloo Investigator (on the brink or whatever it is really). Dan, was it really 20 years ago, where does the time go to?
