New Vinyl
I was expecting some sarcastic comment from you, but that actually made me laugh.

Wigan On Youtube
Can't you just accept it for what it was? Just a lot of young white people & a few black people all getting on well & having a good time. Why analyse the hell out of it?

Wigan On Youtube
Cheers for that Neil (and Keith) really enjoyed that.

New Vinyl
Where are you getting your new vinyl from? I use Crazy beat...https://www.crazybeat.co.uk/ They are across the board & dont deal with unofficial pressings. Service is excellent & they stick up sound files of new issues, which is essential for me. Would appreciate your replies. Col.

Top Modern Tracks At Northern Events
Not sure its quite that cut n dry Pete. Couple of modern dos that I frequent, Monumental & Chi Soul often throw in a few 60s tracks. All seems to work out fine.

Record Deck Middles?
Thought that I'd heard that quote before, but no it was something completely different - "That guy impressed me, and I'm not easily impressed. Oh my god, a BLUE CAR!" Homer Simpson.

Marvin Gaye Covers
Not that I can really recall any cover versions of Marvin Gaye tracks, but was just wondering if there were any successful attempts. By successful I mean almost as good as the original.

Soul Up The Universe
Well since you ask, the moment for me was seeing Martha & The Vandellas live at Wigan '77ish Never looked back. I'm just in awe of live soul in the right settings.

Record Discovery Stories
Local general 'collectors' record shop took a few staff to states mid 80s. Trawled through a massive wearhouse full of vinyl, found loads of rare stuff but no northern. After about 3 days they had covered the whole floor & just had one suit case to look through. Opened it up & found a note......"Ha, Ha No Northern In Here"

I've Done It! I've Done It!i've Uploaded A Music File
Dear Slim, Unless I'm mistaken.... You should upload your mp3 into Refo Soul, where it can be listened to but not downloaded. At the moment people can download your track to their hard drive. If loads of people post up in a similar way it will cause copywright issues for site owners.

I've Done It! I've Done It!i've Uploaded A Music File
You've uploaded an mp3 If my previous history of uploading mp3s is anything to go by.....you're in a bit of trouble

Soul Patches
You did the right thing. I really struggle with the idea that people wish to achieve some kind of status from wearing a badge relating to a soul club that they never went to. Soul badges are at best keep sakes.

Another Big What If Question
Aha, thats the quote. Anyway, I'd like to reverse it.

Another Big What If Question
Berry Gordy said to Jimmy Ruffin (i think) there will never be 2 Marvin Gaye's at Motown. Imagine if he'd changed his mind?

Another Big What If Question
Intersting one that. Topic for a new thread? Although looking at neg feedback on new Wigan Cafe, cause for a more disagreements. Love to hear Gavin (Get over it, its a car park) Page's views

Another Big What If Question
Yep like it Dan. Think we might be joined at the hip. Thanks to all people who responded with positive comments, enjoyed reading the lot

Another Big What If Question
Maybe you should start you're own negative thread. I'm looking for positive comments on this one

Lyrical Question
I'm a bit lost here. You ask a question (which I was keen to answer) then answer it with a link to your web site. Are you a marketing student per chance?

Another Big What If Question
If you could either change something or reverse something, (with soul music lovers in mind) what might it be? Here's a few ideas to start you off: Renegotiate Bobby Womack's contract so that he was never out of contract (and possibly never out of the studio?) Stop Berry Gordy renaming The Supremes, "Diana Ross & The Supremes". Stop Motown from moving from Detroit to LA (or at least make you responsible for looking after the masters during the move) Arrange a bank loan/cash injection to prevent Stax or (insert favourite studio here....) from going bust. Appreciate the 'what if' nature of the question, but please keep it soulful. Col.
