  1. The other side of Geni. Just wondered if this one was rated/played out these days? A superb example of a slightly later period Motown sound-alike in my opinion. Issue rarer than demo? Cheers Richard terri bryant - when i'm in your arms - verve
  2. Hi Phil - you managed to make that trip to Specsavers yet mate to double-check the dead wax info? Cheers Richard
  3. I have this on Sound of Soul without the girlie backing and also a copy on Golden Triangle - what do they both go for these days please? I'm contemplating selling but depends on what I would get for them. Cheers Richard
  4. Thanks and no worries Dave Anyone got the footage and can post it up on here please? Cheers Richard

  8. Cheers John Well that's the same deadwax as mine then, but with different label credits on our copies. Phil's is different in the deadwax, but has the same label credits as your copy by the sounds of it. Intriguing Cheers Richard
  9. Thanks Phil So yours starts with: RITE 51870 15907 Mine starts with: RITE - 1610 15907 Given that the differences in numbering are not in the same format (yours 5 digit and mine 4 digit) I'm not sure what that signifies Cheers Richard
  10. Nice one Phil - thank you My copy has slightly different marks: RITE - 1610 15907 MUTT A A1 ® I have looked at this with a hand lens to get a good look. RITE is stamped in but the rest is scratched in. Interesting stuff but I'm none the wiser. Any deadwax experts out there please? Cheers Richard
  11. Just reviving this thread to see if anyone knows anything else on these label variations Can anyone supply the dead wax details of what seems to be the more common version without the Corals and Inkster credits please? If Popsike is anything to go by there are twice the number of copies without the Corals credit. I can provide dead wax details for the Corals credited copy to compare Also spotted that the producer credits are different. Cheers Richard
  12. Hi Dave Remember this at the time but can't find it on YouTube - can you post up the link please? Have searched but just get the record without the TOTP footage, or Wigan's Ovation "Ski-ing In The Snow" Cheers Richard
  13. Hi everyone Looking for a copy of Len Bland - Operator (Hi-Q) please. Please just PM me if you can help out Thank you Richard
  14. Got mine in a Soul Bowl Soul Pack Cheers Richard

  16. Anyone please? Cheers Richard
  17. I agree, the rule (which was/is also a Soul Talk rule) about not mentioning live eBay auctions should be re-introduced I put a lot of effort into finding stuff -including trawling eBay - especially for less well-known and obscure stuff. It pisses me off when someone posts on here something about a live auction that I'm sure by the very fact of the post they have no intention of bidding on themselves. I want as little competition as possible, and for all my hard work searching to pay off - not for this to then be ruined by some t*** who is just being clever (where is that w@nk*r emoticon when you need it) Having a 'don't mention live eBay auctions' rule hurts nobody - but not having the rule obviously pisses quite a lot of people off. I would happily not have the eBay adverts in the top right hand corner too The thrill of the chase, and the time on the clock searching (eBay or otherwise) are still a big part of collecting for me - having some t*** post up an auction on here for all to see just doesn't fit - it's just spoiling Cheers Richard (Grumpy from Newark )
  18. Overseas gift payments can cost extra Richard
  19. I have a Volcano and it's great Cheers Richard
  20. Previous thread here. Listing posted by Chalky from R&B Indies listing both 126 and 128. Not sure myself as I don't collect Bump Shop. I have had a look through some scans on my laptop, Popsike etc. Could not find a copy listed as 128. Just to be proved wrong I will stick my neck out then and say I think there is only one copy, credited as in the picture, with both 126 and 128 on the label There are other releases sometimes credited twice for a similar reason - The Volumes on Karen is another great example of this. Cheers Richard
  21. Good man Steve Yeah - agreed it does sound a bit weird in places, and it also shows how differently Johnnie Mae and Calvin approached their own recordings vocally too. Much appreciated - thanks! Richard
  22. Excellent stuff Steve
  23. OK Steve - good man Will sort out the tracks tomorrow Will be interesting to see if it works Cheers Richard
  24. Does anyone have any studio session recording details on this classic please? Tony & Tyrone - Please Operator (Atlantic) Cheers Richard
  25. Hi Steve Don't know if you could do this but I would love to hear the following duet please Johnnie Mae Matthews and Calvin Williams - Lonely You'll Be Johnnie Mae was released on Art, Jam and Atco. Calvin Williams was on Northern Del-La and Atco. I could supply sound files from original vinyl Fancy the challenge mate? Cheers Richard
