Sounds like a complete nightmare, something we all live in fear of. You have my sympathies both for the loss and the trouble involved. Best Mick

Little Jimmy Ray, Bootleg?
FYI There are three variations of this issue on Popsike: https://www.popsike.com/GALLIANT-1001LITTLE-JIMMY-RAYYOU-NEED-TO-FALL-IN-LOVE/390339037224.html None have the "Gallant" spelling of the record label. One has a larger type face with no "vocal" and no double horizontal bars, the others are similar, but not the same as the current Ebay item, making four variations if you include the "Gallant" spelling. No description include references to matrix numbers or the type of plastic. Interesting, but I couldn't say anymore than that. Best Mick

Mint Volt Stuff
I take it that this is The Limitations Hold on to it. If its of any interest, back in 1973 Record Corner did 100 record soul packs (might have been 100 45's for £10). Being a hard up textile worker I chipped in with a pal to split the box. Obviously I can't recall everything in there, but there were a fair amount of Stax and Volt late 60's early 70's releases. At the time the Torch was our thing and we (unfortunately) thought that they were a pile of crap, We bundled em in 5's and sold them on to friends at 50p each, thinking we'd made a loss. A few were held on to in my half including The Limitations "all because of you", The Newcomers "mannish Boy" plus the Ethics "Sweet Tomorrow" on Wale and Jackie Wilson's much underrated "you left the fire burning". Basser my mate, had in his half Channel 3. Many years later I asked him about his tunes and he said his son had unfortunately nicked em from the loft and sold them on. The point I'm making here ,is that Stax/Volt was a vibrant commercial label in the early 1970's and to my deep regret I ignored their output. Evidently Record Corner must have felt the same. The people that I sold my soul pack tunes onto weren't collectors, they'd probably have ended up in the bin. Interesting thread, thanks for sharing. Just wish I'd got the cash for mint copies of the records mentioned. [media=]

Les Mcgann - Sad Little Girl
Try "Les Skate" , often overlooked from the LP. Driving piano instrumental in the vein of "call me". 15 - 20 years ago the LP was much sought after, then E-bay came along.

Top Album Only Tracks
Here's a stormer that I can never make up my mind about, certainly sound a little "Casino". Very reminiscent to me of the Harvey Averne Dozen's "Think It Over" ( along with "wishing & hoping" also LP only- as far as I know). Album also includes "walk in my shoes", which as most know is a down tempo version of the Gladys tune. Bruce Cloud "Why can't I be born again!" Capitol "California Soul" LP:

Wish I could afford one of these now , nearly bought one for 50 quid about 15 years ago. However after having "booked it", the dealer took if off sale and put it on again for 3 x the price. Nice one, great album. Mick
