cracks caused by tight fitting centres-hmmm are some people fitting the centre with a Hydraulic Press????...I've seen some DJ Gear, but.. ........I recall dropping a metal (turned) centre on my Mary Love '45-it was bloody heavy!!!!
  3. Angie Stone-'Wish I did'nt Miss You'-J Records .just walked into a 'DJ' shop, (staffed by DJs), and asked if anyone had it;a 'house' DJ was selling his vinyl....funny how you can just go somewhere, on 'a' day, and....

having done itmyself, I agree with the former-another subatnce to try is Nail Varnish Remover (not too much!!) as that may get some of the more stubborn dirt out-have you got a record-cleaning brush? re the expensive Record Cleaner, there was a site called teresaudio.com (?), a few years ago, which had instructions for making your own record cleaner, using old Vacuum Cleaner parts, and an old turntable....good luck, anyway
  5. -thanks very much, this is brilliant!-the bloke in the first one seems to be doing the 'skate'.....I recall, and have on video, a programme about Sam Cooke, and the Gospel Circuit; there was some real rave-up dancing in that, filmed in a Church...thanks again
  6. Thanks for the D/Ls-more to the collection!!!

..hmmmmm....The Intruders.......'Do You Remember Yesterday'-thats a good one as well-as is your favourite track, funky lady-wadda 'bout the Skullsnaps, Voices of East Harlem, etc...
  17. Sounds quite logical to me..... ...........Belgium is the only place that would play this depressing dirge of a track..... clanky, clanky, clanky,.....the sound of R&B Soul.....
  18. ...especially when they insist of walking the longest possible route, across a full dancefloor with a night's supply of pints!!!!!-re the smoking/no smoking debate-I love the sounds of soul, so I have to put up with the imposition of smokers on me; but it is amusing when Drink-Driving, drunkenness, Drug-Taking are used in defence of this habit, but there you go...
  19. ......thanks for the quick reply, Pete-so how can I get a copy of the track 'I wanna know'-Jean Carter, .....?
  20. .... so the info on this track is in the public domain.......in that case Pete, give us the benefit of your knowledge,......reveal all...thanks, in advance...
  21. Time-Edwin Starr; there is another track, with the title 'Time', but I cannot recall who it's by, ATM (and I've got it!!)
  22. ..hmmm, how BIG is the 'I wanna know' fan club?????
  23. As far as I know-Butch is at the 100 Club next Weekend, so, if I go, I will be able to find out, ( if he plays it!!!!!); this one has stuck in my mind, as much as yours, I see. Thinking about it, I do think it is, for some reason, a 'New York' style production; also, the soaring vocals-they might give a clue to the actual title. I do wonder, sometimes, if, in these situations, and with Modern Recording Technology, if it is worth asking the DJ concerned if they would copy it to a CD, for personal enjoyment.....
  24. -Hiya markw-the Decca Acetate, eh!!!!; I am also interested in who this is-I did once suggest, to Butch, that it was Reparata(!)-perhaps, as far as answering your Q., there is 'Omerta' in the brother and sisterhood.....It is a brilliant track, though, isn't it...
  25. Regional Accents fashionable today?....hmmmm, well ectuawelly, I thowet they were yeaars agew...... .....I could 'av trained yer 't speke propah yeeers ago.....(1982) R4 Prog was a nice 'snipett', though...!!!!
