  1. Not unlike Wearing a Gimp Mask, Felching and Flagellation, some things including learning to dance, are best kept in ones bedroom...
  2. Check out the scans at the top of the auction pages - they are different copies of the 45... one has paint on the label, the other is clean.
  3. I also wish I had 10p for every General Crook 45 I had to sift through to get to them....
  4. They are still there - I pulled every copy out of the boxes - discarded the water damaged ones, then put each copy on the deck to see if there was a warp in it - out of the "hundreds" of copies, i think I pulled the last 15 mint unwarped ones. Still worth £15 of anybodies money though.
  5. The Northern Soul Scene IS Dead, Long Live The Northern Soul Scene! and for those wishing to shed a few tears over it's demise, you could do a lot worse than buying a few of these: I've got a raft of them left back in the Wankco lock-up.
  6. Thanks for the confirmation Tony, always thought Jimmy was first but didn't want to commit in print as it were...
  7. Another one of those pesky Mod club sounds I used to play crossing over onto the Northern scene then - used to play Combinations "Bump Ball" around the same time...
  8. Great 60s Pop record with a great White pop vocal. Northern Soul? Not in my book. Check out 'Sugar Shack' by him - it's a dead ringer for Dee Clarks 'That's My Girl' and knocks this into a cocked hat... not sure if Dee Clark is a rip off or it's the other way around.
  9. Yep, both on demos and issues as well... Only way to tell is to play them.
  10. Named after the 'Shadows' real identity.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lamont_Cranston_Band
  11. Here you go - one for sale here: /forums/topic/123936-rare-sales-and-some-cheapies/page__pid__1267368__st__0entry1267368 Johnny Hunter - If the Things In Your Room Could Talk
  12. If it's the one Roger Banks plays then it's a different artist...

Anyone paying more than £15 for this want a sound kick in the knackers. It's never been rare, and a shed load of mint copies (store stock) turned up in the last 2 - 3 years.
  14. I can confirm that this is indeed the case, and has forced our legal department to issue the following letter: Dear Mr Arkwright, Please find enclosed a notice of intent to prosecute for counterfeiting original Wankco merchandise. As you are probably aware, Wankco are the Worldwide Brand Leaders in NorthernSoul Tat, and as such we cannot allow our brand strength to be affected by superior copies flooding our already saturated market. This is our final notice to you to cease and desist in any further infringements of our designs, logo's (including the Deformed Soul Fist) and intellectual properties forthwith. Regards. R Wankstainly.
  15. Link to the original thread here... Some interesting comments from people commenting on this thread - some with the same opinion, some with a complete U-turn....
  16. You've obviously forgotten the 'Trickster Dance Classes' Thread...
  17. Decided to start hunting out some long time wants, so here's the first of many: Gay Jamison Stay Another Day Turntable 714 VG+ or better, thanks. Seen the one listed by Moerer on eBay - but think it's a bit on the steep side, so price has to be quite a bit better than $275. Paypal payment only. Cheers.
  18. There's always the possibility that it was reissued in 1970 to "cash in" on his death.
  19. I sold a Gladiators for a tenner a couple of years back - can't see it going up in value in the meantime.
  20. Record a soundfile and stick it up on eBay for sale - at the end of the day a record is only worth what more than one person is willing to pay for it. To be honest, your post comes across as someone who is paranoid about somebody 'lifting your leg' on the price of a 45 - if this is the case, do the above and let the market decide. If not, and it's just a 45 for your own collection, then what does it matter what it's worth?
  21. Yep, paid no more than a fiver around the same time. 'Propa Norvern Soul'
  22. Eddie Parker - I'm Gone Williams & Watson - Too Late Jackie Wilson & Lavern Baker - Think Twice Version X
  23. Manship auctioned one within the last 18 months and achieved a high price, which suprised me as I also have a copy in my shite box.
  24. Dave Evisons Number Ones.
