The soul packs in the seventies included lots of classic soul ie Carl Carlton "Competition Aint Nothin" n the likes, but also stuff not played on the scene at the time. Some of em are now being played or are worth somat now. Examples being George Wydell "Funny Feeling" and Jack Montgomery "Baby Take a Chance on Me" on Revue. Also, Yvonne Baker "I Cant Change" on Junior was one of them. The packs then had good records in em, but ya did not know at the time that some of em would be rare in the future. Don't think you would have the same luck now as people av more knowledge, but who knows........

Not uneventful but a rather interesting one. Decided to thumb a lift down one night and was picked up by a local plain clothes policeman in his unmarked Transit van......................... who said he was going to The Casino as well We had a good chat on the way down and then parked up in the car park. We said our goodbyes and then I joined the queue. He walked straight up the stairs showed his badge and went in. TIGHT B*GGER Did not see him again after that

In 1978 a few of us decided to go on scooters. I decided that I did not want to be up all night and then ride home, so I accepted a lift in a sidecar. BIG MISTAKE. The sidecar turned out to be a bathtub bolted to the frame and painted bright red to match the Vespa with "TH'OWD SCRUBBER" written on the side There was no suspension and a vinyl car seat was bolted into the bathtub. The things you do when yer young eh!!!!!!!
