  13. On reading this article a few years back it strongly suggest to me that both tunes were recorded in London Abby Road what do you think? is this great record A UK produced sound? this could explain why there is a few UK versions all on the EMI group of labels..Please make a comment as the Drifter article has proved it to be one of the all time soul record DAVE KIL
  14. I ink it was last week? Pete Smith pointed out that some spurious dealer with no feedback was selling Jackie Opal "old rocking chair" on EBay with £ 150 start, however rare that tune is to me the one to have is "i don,t want her" :- most of Jackie's output is very collectible with today's in crowd and most tunes are Very rare these days. My favourite by far is RIO 120 B / the official A "rudie get wise" is a classic in its own right! but this side has always in my humble opinion the very best of JAMACAN R&B and as such I rate the value more than the "old rocking chair" what do you think. there is a CD with all his rare tunes on it called "Jackie Opal & co - "I don,t want her" a must if you want to here the great man with all his rare stuff on it DAVE KIL
  15. JUST PLAYED THIS GREAT OLDIE & NOTICED IT IS 40 YEARS OLD THIS WEEK? SO DIG IT OUT FOR A DESERVED PLAY MISTER DJ DAVE KIL

  17. CHEERS FOR THAT, IN THE BOOK I HAVE OF HIS RARE UK SINGLES HIS LIST STARTS AT OOTP 5, CLEARLY THIS IS NUMBER 1, EVERYONE OVER THE YEARS I HAVE HAD IT WERE NOT AWARE OF THIS ONES EXISTANCE? HOWEVER ITS THE SAME LABEL AS CARL DOUGLAS ALSO IT SHOULD BE PIONTED OUT THAT THE SHOOTONG STAR LABEL NUMBERS ARE IN FACT :-ISC 1 A & THE WHITE LABLE ARE OOTP -37 IN THE CASE OF THE KELLY BROTHERS-LOVE TIME, AS SUCH THEY ARE DIFFERANT IN 2 WAYS / OR 4WAYS IF YOU COUNT THE COLOR CHANGES ON THE INTERNATIONAL SOUL CLUB RELEASES, FOR EXAMPLE I HAVE BEN AIKEN ON BLUE & A DARK GREEN ONE, I FOR ONE WHO BOGHT THESE RECORDS AS THEY COME OUT WOULD LIKE A COMPREHENSIVE LISTING, AS IT WAS THESE RECORDS THAT WERE IN MY COLLECTION IN THE EARLY DAYS AND I LOOK BACK ON THE WITH GREAT FONDNESS DAVE KIL

  21. A BIG THANKS TO ALL I have had 8 members contact me about them. as I have said I rarely sell anything these days with a few exceptions to keen UK collectors only, I do have doubles of stuff, but more commen is that in some cases its a DEMO & A STOCK COPY, THESE RCA RECORDS WERE GIVEN TO ME BY A VERY GOOD FREIND AND AS SUCH CONSTITUTE A PART OF MY WIGAN STUFF, NOT AS PART OF MY RECORD COLLECTION HOWEVER if you do collect rare UK records as well as US, I Strongly suggest you contact :- MJ Records over the years I have been collecting they have always aimed to please at good prices or speak to Mick Smith the next time you see him, FORGET THE REST MJ RECORDS ARE THE BEST :- Tell him Dave Kilworth says so as I have bought records from Mick for 38 years now, Jesus Christ nearly 40 years of rare soul nice nice nice DAVE KIL
