Magazine Contributors
As some may be aware, each month we produce a 16 page A5 mag that we hand out free on the door to early arrivals (along with a CD) at our do's in Whitley Bay. Some folk from further afield even subscribe (£6 a year - 12 issues, covers postage and printing: if you subscribe and you haven't got yours yet hold fire - just got some new toner ) Anyway, we've now got space for guest contributors to stick something in the mag - record reviews, opinion, whatever you want that's soul related. And of course you'll get a copy of the mag sent to you when your article appears. Space is limited so it'll be on a first come basis. If there's loads wanting to contribute there'll be a cut off point or something. Just a bit of fun really and a chance to rattle on about records and stuff. If you're interested please PM me and I'll give you more details. Cheers, Jason/NESU

Dolly Gilmore... What A Record
Cracking two-sider. Sold a copy a while back for just over £300. Think I might be regretting that in more ways than one, soon, even though that was, realistically, top-dollar. At the time.

Weekend Playlists Come On
all, that and more, not to mention switching the speed to 33 on the sly a few times just before you hit 'play'...by accident of course.

Timebox - Beggin'
Nail on head for me . Drums on Frankie are nice but like you say, I find it otherwise a bit dull and lacking oooomph. The Four Seasons needn't have bothered turning up for all the effort they put in. Horses for courses, of course.

Might just be me but trying to get onto the mixes page on SKB site killed my browser three times. Any chance you can post the mix url links in here or something so I can get a listen? I'll give it another crack anyways, but just a thought.

Mp3 Wanted
Saving the files. Once you've clicked it to play in refosoul player it'll download to your temporary internet files as an MP3 - it downloads the whole file in seconds depending on internet speed. In explorer go to tools > internet options > general > browsing history > settings > view files. That'll then show your temporary internet files. Usually they're sorted alphabetically by file type...scroll down to MP3 Format Sound and the file should be there. It'll be called whatever the person who uploaded it called it. Click on the item to highlight it, then click edit > copy (or ctrl + c). Then come out of the temporary internet files window) and paste it in whatever folder you want -somewhere easily findable on your desktop etc - (create a new folder if you want) and there it is, saved. Sounds long winded - it's actually very simple and takes about 10 seconds if that.

...Moerer's also got some of the 103 by the looks of it which he's listed for the flip but has Answer Me on t'other side. Nice record - nice to see it getting some spins elsewhere

Sundown/unique Pleasure
Had a few copies of Sundown in the past - I'll check and see if I've still got a spare. Definately the stronger of the two issues for me. Amp Fiddler was doing good even back then

Few More Going Offers Welcome
Yeah, but what you're saying is ten years ago it was £40. Sure a lot of stuff was £40 ten years ago that nowdays seldom crops up. If i'd have bought it for £40 ten years ago I'm not sure I'd be wanting to make out it's not worth much - unless I'd flogged it and wanted it back on the cheap. Don't know much about this record (who played it when, where and how many times) but it's a cracking tune and I'd have to agree with Kevin J - mainly cos it more than doubles what mine cost us.
