New Orleans R&b Chart 1967
Thanks for the list. I wouldn't mind hearing that on the radio... Chris Kenner "Fumigate Funky Broadway"!!! Bloody hell. That's one angry tune. Christian, have you heard the Little Milton version of "Believe In Me Baby"? Indeed a fab tune.

Bernard Smith & Jokers Wild
Why is a brand new record being sold for £25? Even when doing a low press run of 250 the price per 45 is not more than £2.50 at the very highest. £5 would be a good price, and then there's some 100% profit as well.

Did I Miss Something
I suspect that most venues use Technics 1200s or a lookalike of some kind. They all use the same kind of stylus set-ups. The reason JW got noise through the entire record was becasue the stylus was in poor condition, the weight was set too high and the anti-skating wasn't set-up properly. The people in charge of setting up the turntable didn't do his/hers job. It's VERY easy to learn how to do this. When it comes to this, ignorance is the main problem in my opinion.

Did I Miss Something
Problem solvers: Buy 2 "healthy" styluses to use when you DJ. Learn how to properly set up a turntable. Don't cue styrene records.

Sam Dees
Yes, originally released on an Atlantic 45. DO NOT PAY £150 FOR THIS 45. Original US copies are currently selling for about $110 (£55-ish) on eBay. In fact, three copies has sold during the past week: $100: https://cgi.ebay.com/SAM-DEES-FRAGILE-HANDL...1QQcmdZViewItem $106: https://cgi.ebay.com/SAM-DEES-MINT-SOUL-DAN...1QQcmdZViewItem $113.50: https://cgi.ebay.com/SAM-DEES-Fragile-Handl...1QQcmdZViewItem

Lonnie & Floyd
I like "You Got To Feel It". Nice piece of punchy southern soul. Annoying backing vocals though. Has been a cheapie for as long as I've been collecting and copies are always available from the US at $5-$15.

Sound File Wanted
I agree... Same songwriters so no big surprise. I love Alvin Robinson's version as well:
-
Sound File Wanted
The Voices Incorporated "Roots" LP on Columbia. Can be picked up for about $10-$20. Here are some pictures and text bits from the LP sleeve (by the way, I suspect that Garrett Saunders in the picture is the same guy who cut the nice beat ballad "A Day Or Two" on Serock).

Ace Spectrum "if You Were There"
No US 45 of the Isley Brothers version, but it it did come out on a UK Epic 45 (flip to "Need A Little Taste Of Love"). Lovely tune. Think I prefer the Isley's version.

Up For Grabs
I agree! Top gritty tune.

Bits N Bobs
The Darrell Nullisch tune is available on a 45 released at the same time as the latest "Togetherness" compilation CD on Expansion. I like it. It's very similar in feel with the latest couple of albums by Nick Lowe so it would be strange if I didn't like it. He's got quite a weak voice though, but it's a decent track nontheless.

Cleo Randle
I did that as well... then I watched the video clip... (Christian, you really have to borrow those DVDs from me, some brilliant stuff on them!)

Cleo Randle
That's a very decent price. Buy it. I'm even tempted to buy one myself... and I've already got one. "Pretty" good... you're having a laugh!
