  1. The Herbert Hunter info should be posted in Look At Your Box as well in my opinion. Unique stuff.
  2. I sold that one. I found it at a yard sale here in Sweden. Another issue of Carol & Gerri sold on eBay one month prior to my sale. It had a 1 cm edge crack but still managed to fetch £247.
  3. Interesting that at least three of the tunes on the Herbert Hunter LP were released in other versions on the ELF label. "Earthquake" by Bobbi Lynn. "Funky Street Band" by Buzz Cason. "She Shot A Hole In My Soul" by Clifford Curry. All of the above have close links to Mac Gayden and/or Buzz Cason. Plus there's a version of Robert Knight's "Branded" on there which also was penned and produced by Gayden/Cason. Might be a clue in there somewhere. Or not! and it's just coincidence. But I'd put money on the LP recording being linked to Gayden/Cason in one way or another.
  4. Not that odd. The tune was bootlegged on a 12" EP along with Krisp "Sunlight", Wynd Chymes "Baby You're The One" plus one more track. I'm not surprised at the prices it is achieving. It has got the "right" sound and isn't exactly easy to track down these days regardless of how many copies you had 30 years ago. It seldom turns up for sale.
  5. Don't know which Lasse you're referring to (Lasse Bang/Bong?), but I think the scandinavian guy jocko is thinking of is LarsC from Norway, he's on SoulSource, here's an old Invictus thread he started:
  6. It's a huge tune on the disco/boogie scene. Was bootlegged recently on a 12" as well.
  7. No, not on a 45.
  8. Post deleted. Nevermind...
  9. "Interesting" that The Patterson Twins changed the title/lyrics to "I Got Some Problems" on their version of that tune.
  10. It's now only 2-3 hours to go on these auctions: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  11. Ofcourse there are deadwax differences between the two-line/one-line issues. You wrote that you had the one-line green issue. Why would I answer your question with info regarding a different issue than the one you have? If your deadwax is 11mm and not 13,88mm then yours is an original. Does your copy really have an upside down looking "V" instead of a proper "A" in the deadwax?
  12. If the deadwax has got three turns and is 13,88 mm wide plus that the "7078 A" in the deadwax lacks the "bar" in the A and looks like an upside down "V" instead of an "A" then it is a BOOTLEG. If it deadwax has got four turns it is the ORIGINAL.
  13. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to everything. Check them out at: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking! Take care. /Sebastian
  14. That book is awesome. It was published a couple of months ago by the swedish company Premium Publishing. You can buy it here: https://www.premiumpublishing.com/en/art/the-uk-45-rpm-sleeves.php ...or flick through a bunch of its pages here: https://issuu.com/premiumpublishing/docs/issuu_45_rpm/3?e=1163509/2447618

  20. I agree, it seems to be heavily influenced by the Jerry Butler tune. Johnny Gilliam's singing style/phrasing also borrows a lot from Butler.
  21. Might be a mis-credited MP3? Both songs can be heard above. But please post the MP3 somewhere, it would be great if there was a version of "Find Yourself Another Girl" by Johnny Gilliam. The version recorded by Jerry Butler is one of my all-time faves.
  22. Sorry, totally different lyrics to Jerry Butler's "Find Another Girl" and Jerry Gilliam's "Find Yourself Another".
  23. "Rare soul" is not any kind of genre or description of how music sounds. It's a description of whether a soul record is rare or not.
  24. "Tequila" by The Champs, and a hundred other tunes.
