  1. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to everything. Check them out at: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html SOUL / FUNK / R&B 45s: David Del Conte (TOTALLY UNKNOWN STOMPER!), Connie Stevens ("Tick Tock"), Moses Dillard & Martha Starr, Sylvia Striplin, Gary Toms Empire, Barbara Hall, John Lee Hooker, Continental 4, Bobby Byrd, Tuomo, Earl Van Dyke, Bobby Caldwell, Logg, Kevin Drinkard, Lou Pride, Rene & Angela etc. DISCO / BOOGIE 12": C.J. & Co, Gary Johnson, Asphalt Jungle, Gary Johnson REGGAE / ROCKSTEADY / ROOTS / DUB 45s & 12"s: Roy Shirley, Dennis "Young" Alcapone, E.K. 2. I just pulled out the Jimmy Webb 45 on Bell with "Lost Generation" and the label credits read: "Produced [...] for Audio Arts Productions" I've never ever noticed that before and didn't realise that there was a long term connection between JW and Audio Arts! I now realise that he wrote and arranged several other things for Audio Arts/Forty/Gospel as well (Ron Kenoly, Al Waples, William & Michael, Otto's Organization, Harold Bowen Singers etc.).
  3. Just found a soundclip of it. It utilises the exact same backing track as Jimmy Webb's version on BELL. Webb's version is - if anything - more soulful than Bailey's...
  4. Is that the Jimmy Webb penned tune? If so, would love to hear it, purely because of my interest in JW. Is it a soul recording?
  5. Absolutely fantastic tune. I can't understand why it isn't getting more spins.
  6. This one perhaps? Gets going after 45 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7ZNAtyv9_E
  7. Apparently it was also included on the "Poco Prima Dell'aurora" LP from 1973. The Roulette 45 is from 1975.
  8. But as miff stated, the NUMERO UNO 45 below is a bootleg:
  9. The US issue is indeed on Roulette, but the original 7" release was issued one year prior to the Roulette 45 and it was as far as I know only released in Italy at the time. The real name of the artist is Ivano Alberto Fossati & Oscar Prudente. The original title is "Tema Del Lupo" (translates to "Theme Of The Wolf" if I remember corectty). The original italian label is CETRA NUMERO 1.
  10. It's pretty indicative of his love for catchy and melodic pop music though.

I'm loving the later version of this tune by Count Demon as well.
  12. There's a nice version of that tune by The Four Singing Avalons on ATCO as well (same backing track as Archie Bell if I remember correctly). Prefer Bobo's take on it personally.
  13. LP-only as far as I know. Fantastic tune.
  14. A great pounding tune! Sounds immense when played over a good sound system. Ridiculous bass line! Might very well have been a soul pack record 25 years ago, but it's a difficult 45 to turn up nowadays and a lot of people are after it.
  15. Yes, definitely exists as a white demo/promo.
  16. The debut 7" by the afro/funk/soul band The Fasaans from my hometown (Malmoe, Sweden) has just been released. Pressed up by the band themselves and issued on their Fasaan Recordings label in only 250 copies. A very nice piece of wax in my opinion. I've got a couple of copies in case anyone is interested and the cost is ยฃ10 including worldwide shipping. PM me or e-mail me ( sebastian AT shingaling DOT com ). Have a listen to a part both sides here: https://www.shingaling.com/fasaans.mp3
  17. Only 1-2 hours to go on these auctions now: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking! :-)
  18. There's now about 1 day left on these auctions: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html
  19. Helena and I have indeed been playing it a bit over the past couple of years (as have many others, I believe). It's a fantastic uptempo tune in my opinion. Sounds great when played out loud. As you noted, not an easy 45 to locate clean copies of, and prices are all over the place. Hard to put a "set value" or "going rate" on a record like this which so comparatively few people are aware of.

Take care. /Sebastian
  21. Fairly hard to find in clean condition though (EX to M-). Usually turns up in VG-ish condition with lots of scratches, writing on label etc. Must've been a popular tune upon release.
  22. I second all of the comments above. A superb club with an open-minded top notch music policy, run by some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to meet through the soul scene. I definitely recommend a visit!
  23. Rob and Jason: big thanks for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the tunes. A whole bunch of my previous mixes can be found here: https://www.shingaling.com/ Will try to scan the labels of the 45s in my latest mix as soon as I get some spare time to do it.
