  6. just browsing flea-bay and noticed a few of these singles on there. no shortage in supply, one particular listing has 6 bids already. Its a corking tune in my opinion, raw, pacey and a brilliant delivery what i wanna know is: when did you last hear this record played out and would you play it personally? ( i dont have a copy so i'll not be spinning it )

  8. imminent house move has forced me into another clear out of stuff. looking through old albums etc, i've found some real goodies released on the old MFP/Sounds superb labels. Motown Magic - various artists The Contours - Baby hit and run The Four tops - I cant help myself blimey, some quality tunes on these, Gladys Knight & the pips - The Stranger Contours - Baby hit and run/misunderstanding/determination/first i look at the purse/can you jerk like me Four Tops - I'm grateful/Helpless/I got a feeling/until you love someone I think i'll have another dig in the boxes

I can see all sides of what people are saying on this thread I can't speak for my partner Ian, as he will have his own views...........................Myself, I do enjoy a good oldies night, but i would like to hear more underplayed tracks, sometimes i feel the music is a bit too safe & you do tend to hear the same few songs everywhere you go, when there is so many old 60's tunes that dont ever get played & if a dj did put something on that i have not heard before, it could be a bonus!............as i might find something else that i like A couple of weeks ago, we went to the Bar Life at Skegg...................Superb choice of oldies, mixed with some rare & underplayed music from Coops, Ian G & Ian Parker It was that good, i was laid up for 2 weeks after Debbie x

  18. I definitely heard it , Nottingham palais all-dayer. 1978/79 (hard to pinpoint). the DJ played it, the floor emptied totally ... i also remember hearing ABC by the Jackson 5 on the same day
  19. I sold my Four tops - its the same old song R/W demo for a fiver to Pete Brown, in 1979 i think . i also sold a supremes R/W for £20 to Neil O. thats about my lot when it comes to Motown Demo's. anyway, sounds a cool place for a browse

  21. oh blimey , i'd forgotten how that looked inside. i think the last time i went was around 81/82 in Harry's mini bus a maze of doorways to get to the 2nd room if i remember correctly. a couple of tunes that stick in my mind from there were 'Flame n King - oh happy days' & 'Edwin Starr- Time' great place, thanks for posting, IAN

  23. all i remember is that it took bloody ages to get there from this piss pot town in the east midlands. once on a train, once on coach (from Brit club, Nottm) and twice in a car Mr M's everytime
