  1. Yes most of the records we buy and play are in mono, so someone recommended it to me. Got mine off Ebay for about 70 quid. One draw back is on my NAD there is no bass adjustment so if the recording quality of the record is "dull" there can be a bit of distortion at higher volumes.
  2. I did the same as Alan and went with the Reloop around 3 years ago. No problems with it at all so far. Added Wharfdale bookcase speakers and bought a older NAD 3120 amp that has the mono function.

  7. The above monthly event takes place this month on the Sunday 13th December at the open air market in Market Square. Market Square is right in the town center and there's plenty of parking around within 5 minutes walk. Normally 30-40 dealers with plenty of soul 45 and albums for sale. Usually very busy with collectors travelling from across the UK. Its run by AA Record Fairs if sellers want to get a sales pitch - AA Record Fairs Andy 0758 7103047. I have no personal involvement with this company or event I'm just putting it up for those who may be interested in attending or selling.

  11. Just a quick story on this 45. Many years ago I was dealing with a guy in the US using lists he sent me. They had a whole mix of 45's in every genre not just soul. I was out one night and Dave Welding was DJ'ing and played this covered up. Obviously he wouldn't say what it was but eventually it came out probably a couple of years after. Thinking back to my lists I realized it had been listed on there, so I got straight back in touch with the dealer, only to be told he had 4 copies which had been sold to a UK dealer. These were probably the copies that went out to the big names who began to play it also. Andy
  12. Hi Just gone through the storage box and I have a Sonnet cover but its a pic cover for the 45 as a promotion. Unfortunately its not plain 'Sonnet' as you picture. ATB Andy
  13. Hi I'm after a couple of these or even one if you have one spare ? Not sure on the price but happy to sort it out if you have one (or more !) Thanks Andy
  14. If anyone has a couple or even one of this and would will willing to let it go please get in touch. Not sure what price these would be but happy to sort it out if you have one (or more !) Thanks Andy
  15. I'm sure I have one of those in the storage boxes. Give me a day or two and I'll have a dig around. Andy
  16. Went to the last couple and will be there Sunday. Lots of stuff to go through last time and it was pretty busy across the day. Plenty of dealers with soul 45 & LP's. Andy
  17. Just click on the envelope icon on the top right of the screen next to your name. It will open up the private message section. ATB Andy
  18. I'd steer clear of that sort of question on here as individuals tend to have fairly strong views one way and the other and other threads on OVO questions have gone off track lets say. 🤪 Someone might respond but get your tin hat on ready just in case😀
  19. 😀 I was going to ask you that but I thought it would be rude to do so.😲 Anyway if anyone is interested in this 45 and the story of Junior McCants check this out. https://eu.cincinnati.com/story/news/history/2014/10/18/mystery-soul-singer-junior-mccants/17532395/ ATB Andy
  20. The three that have gone through Ebay (see Popsike.com for details) have all fetched big money in the thousands ($17, $15 and $6 '000) and all have been White Promo's by the looks of it. So your Blue issue could be quite a find. If you want to maximize your money go the auction way with Ebay or a dealer like John Manship who seems to get extraordinary prices for his auction 45's.
  21. One for the funky side in what looks like unplayed condition from old store stock, but lets call it NM in its 'birth sleeve'. We the People - Break Down / On the way to LA - Davel £100 This is the Brown/Maroon label original not the re-issue. Payment as Paypal F&F or add 4 % if you prefer. Post 1. 70 UK first, 3.00 recorded or 5.00 standard worldwide air. Please PM any questions or to order. ATB Andy
  22. OK a couple of used, abuse but cheap tunes for you and I'll describe the condition... 1. Don Gardner - My baby like to boogaloo - Tru-Glo-Town £15 Styrene press with multiple light surface marks but no real deep scratches or gouges. A couple of small edge chips in the run in groove which don't affect the tune itself. The label shows some wear but no rips or writing. Sound quality is better that the surface looks with some light surface noise and plays through with no skips or jumps. 2. Maurice Jackson - Lucky fellow - Candlelight £15 Vinyl has multiple light marks and some scratches and a few heavy scuffs. However it plays through with no skips or jumps but there is significant surface noise, but the music can be heard above it. The label is worn and a bit dirty but no rips or writing. If your looking to own the originals, something to play at home or maybe put them on the wall or stick them to your record box , its up to you. Paypal as F&F please P&P is 1.70 first, 2.50 recorded or 5.00 worldwide. PM's with questions or to order please. Thanks Andy
