  1. So, I'm rummaging around in the storage space and find a box of records which I'd totally forgotten about. In there I find the Casanova Two and I'm thinking "foook I didn't realise I had this". Joy upon joy, but then it struck me to check the matrix and run out. Sure enough it has F-2622 scratched in as opposed to stamped in. "Foook" again, but for the wrong reasons. So its a reissue of this, what seems to be an ever constant in demander, in Ex condition overall with small signs of use with a few slight marks on the vinyl which don't cause any issue, but overall still a nice disc and been sat in a box for yonks. £40 plus post at £1.50 UK First, £2.50 recorded, worldwide standard air mail at £5 Paypal as F&F please. PM's any questions etc.... Cheers Andy
  2. This is an official reissue from the Jamie Guyden organisation. I got 6 copies when it was done. Think I have 1 left. Been selling them at £25. The price of the original has gone shooting up, so for most this is the only way to own it. Great tunes both sides.

From Royal Mail.... "If you buy goods online from outside the EU for delivery to the UK, you'll have to pay Customs Duty (if over £120 value) and Import VAT (if over £18) on top of the purchase price (including duties), though Customs Duty is waived if the amount of the calculated duty payable is £7 or less" And this from the Taxman.... https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty I've learned the hard way. If there is something I like and the postage cost is large and having contacted the seller to ask if they would send in accordance with my instructions, I then decide whether to bid or not based on their response. Recent example was a 'Buy it now' at $75 and he wanted $35 post and refused my requests (despite me explaining the whole scenario) so I didn't bid, even though I wanted the 45.
  4. Best find in terms of percentage return on investment was back in the late 70's at the local flea market. Wilbur Walton Jr - 24 hours was covered up and then whilst at Wigan one night it was uncovered. I realised I had seen it a few days before and went back to the market the following week. Paid the princely sum of 5p for it and sold it two days later to a local DJ for £35, which in the late 70's was a good amount of cash. Crap record though, otherwise I would have kept it
  5. Not sure why it wouldn't be the same copy ? Many Ebay sellers put their sound files on YT.
  6. These come from a guy who has the contents of his old long closed record shop in his basement. His shop closed 20 years ago so they have just been sat on the shelf. These are all about the condition. I've not even played these myself !! The vinyl on each looks immaculate although I'll use M- as the grading, and to use the current dealer bullshiiit some are in their "birth sleeves". P&P is £1.50 UK first, £2.50 recorded and special would be at cost. Worldwide standard airmail £5. Payment by PayPal F&F or add 4% to the total price if you want to use this route. Sounds files are from Youtube and not from the 45. The scans are the actual 45 label. PM any questions or queries Cheers +++++++++++++++ Harold Tyler - Reality - Tymo £50 (mid tempo xover - 3 on Discogs between 85 -100 quid ) Original Breed - The Prophet - Karol £30 (top quality xover for the money) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJwmb8kR2Qk These still available also..........................make an offer if you want ! Never been booted as far as I know. I've had WD and issue copies over the years, but definitely more WD's as they seem easier to find.

  14. The seller was offered far less than that sometime ago when discussing it with a UK collector. My advice, based on current interest, was to put it on Evilbay as prices are bonkers....not 20K bonkers...but he would get higher than offered. My guess was he'd get 5K plus... so not a million miles out in the end.

  16. The Tomahawk label was run by Ben Parsons out of Columbus GA. They recorded all sorts of stuff on the label from Folk to Funk. As it become more of a custom label a lot of the stuff is pretty scarce. Suggest you keep your eyes peeled on evil bay, on here or contact some of the well known dealers to see if you get a hit.

  18. It was like that with so many so called "rarities" these days. I can't believe that the Millionaires goes for such as price. When it was popular back in the 70's copies were so plentiful you could buy it for less than a Starbucks coffee today. Anyone and everyone had one. Same thing with the likes of Epitome of Sound. I guess its just demand from the oldies crowd and maybe those late to the party.
  19. Agreed. There is too much ego around it from some. That's why I also pick and choose which I read.
  20. Playlist are interesting for a few reasons...and I voted yes BTW First they can indicate the music policy of the venue. Second they can indicate the tastes of the DJ. Thirdly, taking the first and second into account it helps (me) make a decision on where I might want to go for a night out or even a day out.. Having said this, I've read loads of playlists on here over the years and now I read only about 10% of them, those where experience has shown me there will be something interesting, so I might only read particular lists by venue or DJ listed in the post who I know have a similar musical taste or policy to me. Over the years I've learned the venues and DJ's where its the usual fair of say Top 50 oldies, or R&B etc so I skip these. So I give them a useful vote yes
  21. I like the other side better anyway. They (Casuals) were part of the Glass City Review that was sponsored by Clark's record store. This 45 was recorded in the back of the Toledo record store in 1969. The label Glass City was the sister label to Clark's famed for Ramona Collins. Gus Walker was the arranger and musical force, as he was on all of the Glass City related records. The record seems to be the second release with Ramona Collins on Clark's, being the first. I was told many moons ago that there was a connection with Johnny Jones & King Casuals on Brunswick - but I think that's wrong and the person who told me was confused. Jones is from the south although he did live in Chicago for a time in the early sixties. His Brunswick releases came between 68-69 although one was leased from Peachtree.
  22. How did you sent it ? If you have sent it with some form of tracking you should be entitled to some compensation. If not it will be difficult but in the past I've just stuck to my guns and bugged them until they've agreed. Purchase price is irrelevant as you sold it now, posted it now and were paid now. From memory >>>> Recorded / Signed for you are covered automatically for £50 Special delivery by 9.00am is £50 and by 1.00pm is £500 and I think you can add insurance to this also. If you have just sent it normal post, then you may be lucky to get anything back without proof. Even if you have proof its about £20 max for items sent by first class post. Hope it works out. ATB
  23. Updated Info: Been asked a couple of questions regarding condition description. The "ticks" described are more like a light few crackles - there are NO jumps, skips etc. Apologies if my original description gave a different impression. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Up for grabs is the current in demand 45 for the low rider, group soul harmony scene. This has just sold recently on Ebay at $421 and another copy was listed at $700+. I've graded the condition at VG++ as on one part of the record there are some surface marks on the run in groove and onto the record which cause a few slight ticks crackles- particularly on the run in before the music. When the music starts it does overpower the ticks crackles which then disappears as the record gets going. The vinyl otherwise is bright and shiny. Happy to play it down the phone if you have any concerns. Jimmy Dockett & Techniques - My Dreams Come True - Flo-Feel VG++ £275 PM's please if interested Post are usual UK rates £1.50, £2.50 Recorded or Special £9. World wide £5 or special would be around £12. Paypal as F&F or add 4% As usual every sale 100% guaranteed refund if not happy
