  1. I was thinking of changing the categories and using "music memorabilia" which is technically what Northern Soul is
  2. surely the records could be listed in a different category, if the words "northern soul" are included in the title, potential buyers will still find the items?
  3. my very first record of any genre was robert knight - love on a mountain top, though at the time I didnt even know what soul was never mind northern
  4. I definately remember having to go down a alley to get to the back of mr m`s, If i remember me and a mate must have got our days mixed up, think it was a fri nite, turned up to the front of the casino and it was all shut up, a local told us about the alley which led to the front entrance of mr m`s. As you say, probably only 100 or so in, but a crackin night none the less. was also defo an allnighter.

  12. dont think these have been mentioned redhill leisure centre, notts kirkby miners welfare
  13. none of the first four.....judy street, everyone must have this, one the biggest sellers back in the day

  17. kenni smith - oh lord whats happening to our people
  18. according to the sleeve notes of the destiny record collector lp, "these things" was a UK Grand Pris recording from 68, and as previously mentioned Soul Sam broke it at Cleethorpes 76.
  19. It was played at the time of release, around 75, I liked it at the time and can think of loads more records worse than this one.
  20. why would a northern dj have records such as duffy in their box anyway, if its in the box it must be there with the intention of playing it sometime. i dont get it.
  21. cheers, and thanks for the mega fast reply.....so the 45`s being sold were boots then or is my memory playing tricks cos I aint seen a boot since either
  22. back in the mid seventies this was a massive floor packer, especially at sammies and cleethorpes, I`m sure John Vincent used to give it some heavy plays. Anyhow, I never got a copy back then and never seen it since, or heard it since for that matter. Is it available, is it a lp track or was it a cover up?
  23. just been watching the out-takes from the documentry, again. I never really understood why the dancing was in slow motion, seeing as at that period northern soul was all about 100mph stompers. Anyone any ideas on this.
  24. has constantly been one of my top tens, completley ruined the track with a crap ad, if they wanted a soul tune they could have used moneys too tight to mention / valentine bros....would have been more appropiate.
