  1. Not been out much of late what with life getting in the way a bit. Anyway a Marsh Tit, often confused with the Willow Tit seen in Steve's picture further up the page
  2. Sad news indeed, he was part of the furniture, always welcoming, always a tale, proud to call him a friend, deepest condolences to Karen and his family. Martyn & Carol
  3. Not mine ... pinched off Twitter ... made me laugh
  4. Been ages since I saw one in my garden Steve ... the Greenfinch have taken over the feeders.

Dave and I used to take the mick out of each other relentlessly, usually over football. We went to see him in hospital last week, I cannot believe he is no longer with us, he was in such good spirits. Rest in peace my old friend, thoughts and sympathy to Shirley and his family. Love Martyn and Carol xxx
  6. A female Common Darter was one of the many Dragonflies taking advantage of the sun on Monday
  7. £2127.00 ... there is a post on here with a few of the results from last week LINK
  8. Baby Don't You Weep is the better side for me, the other one on the label I'm Gonna Love You is also a favourite of mine. No idea on value of the boot, and I dread to think what the real ones fetch these days, a bit more than the few quid I would have paid no doubt.
  9. This juvenile Blue Tit feeding on the suet balls is just starting to get it's blue head feathers come through
  10. I actually got out with my camera yesterday, the first time in months, it seemed strange getting back into the old routine, it did me good. I managed a very accommodating Kingfisher posing on the branch specifically set up for them, only issue was it was back lit, probably best going up to this hide late afternoon so the sun is behind me. Also got a Snipe out in the open, which is unusual, they do like to hide away normally.
  11. It sure was Ed, I would have bought this around 1976, Stay Here With Me was the side being played
  12. Is it a case of miss heard lyrics ... if so can I offer Ray Pollard The Drifter (male singer slow / mid tempo) seeing as the Clown options are diminishing
  13. I have a few of his on Vee Jay and Exodus, I used to buy them blind for a few quid back in the 90's, the flip sides are always good
  14. I spent many hours on a dance floor with Simon, he was one of the funniest guys I knew, his humour would have me in tears at times. When I learnt of his stroke the other day I could not believe it, he was only 57, far too young to be taken from us, he had so much more to give. To say he will be missed is doing him an injustice, he will leave a void on this scene that will be hard to fill. This is how I will remember him ... in shorts, in the zone, dancing R.I.P Simon ... condolences to Carol, Zac, and Bev All our love Martyn & Carol x .
  15. Leucistic birds are not as rare as you would think Steve, quite often get partial ones. About 15 years ago we had a golden coloured house sparrow in the garden ... guess what we called it 😉

Pretty sure my copy is the same
  17. You don't have to put on the red light ........ Sorry ... 😄
  18. Great Crested Grebe, always look their best on a sunny day, the second image through the reeds shows a couple of early youngsters hitching a lift on their parents back.
  19. A Male Blackcap gathering nesting material
  20. A first for me a Great White Egret
  21. When Steve said “can't see the wood for the trees” I was looking for a Woodpecker 😄
  22. Odd framing on that Sparrow Steve ... (I am swaying more towards Sparrow than Reed Bunting, wasn't sure to start with)
  23. There was a pair of Black Necked Grebe as well
  24. Yes thanks Russ, of course it wasn’t the weight of the kit 😉
  25. Took the camera out today, first time since my hernia op in January Grey Herons
