There was a young lad called Joe from Stoke you know the one, had a divvy mate who would do the dying fly , and a tall lad who used to go to the wheel they had a bit of a dance off in 74 . Last I heard of Joe is he went to Nottingham with his arty girlfreind .

The entrance to the Beachcomber was outside at the front of the building . I never saw any fights . never saw anyone get busted although I saw and was searched a few times , I never noticed a heirachy on the dancefloor I danced at the front not paricularly well . Never saw a bloke called Alan that ruled the place in 74 until he copped it in a dance off .

  7. I would like to say it was the music but I would be lying . To be completely honest some of the music was crap but its the associations people places and times that still make the hairs on my neck tingle I dont think anything else comes close . Forty years on my family and freinds dont understand do I care ? no .

  21. Nowt wrong with remembering the old place or reminicing about old freinds . The Casino had a huge impact and still does at present there are ten threads running about the Casino in AOY that says something about its impact on the scene . Its worth celebrating allong with the Torch, Cats , VaVa,s , Samanthas etc infact anywhere that dared to be different from the mainstream dross we were being fed . Timi Yuro summed it up so well Mark
