Seeing as you mentioned Carib Soul in the opening post Sean, here's one 7" that that goes down well there and also at Filthy Soul. Beres Hammond on lead vocals.

Soul Junction Finally Pop The Question
I'm so glad to see the release of this 45 and finally getting confirmation that it is indeed Oliver Cheatham. I remember first hearing this played from Olindo's recording and went on a mission to find out more myself. As shown above, details were very sketchy and it appeared that the acetate at that time was the only one in circulation. Imagine my surprise, when I saw another acetate show up a couple of years later! Despite bidding quite high, the cat was already out of the bag and the winner's bid was too rich for my blood. I've been playing this on the radio and weekenders for some time to great response, but was unable to reveal the artist. So well done to Soul Junction for finally sorting out the contractual stuff and getting this 45 released. I suspect this will be the quickest selling and most played out Soul Junction 45 yet!

News: David Bursey: A Soul Journeyman.
Brilliant write up that answered all the questions I had about this release.I considered this an essential purchase to play on my Starpoint radio show, as has the likes of Mick O'Donnell and Dave Lucas on theirs too. Deservedly, this will get spins not just here but all across Europe too. Great work again from D&J@ Soul Junction. I'm already looking forward to the next little nugget coming our way!

Belita Woods Dies Aged 63
Just seen that former Parliament & Brainstorm singer Belita Woods had died of heart failure. Very sad news. added by site as the msm info below shows someone who's work touched many lives in many ways Belita Woods is a former lead singer of late 70's R&B group, Brainstorm.Brainstorm had a disco hit in 1977 called "Lovin' Is Really My Game". Their follow-up album, 1978's Journey To The Light featured a more soul-funk sound, anchored by the album tracks "We're On Our Way Home" and "If You Ever Need To Cry". Prior to joining Brainstorm, Woods had an early 70s Epic demo playing on Detroit urban radio called "I Just Love You" (considered a rare item for those who collect soul music), a soulful Denise LaSalle-ish groove. Also released the amazing, classic single "Magic Corner/ Grounded" on Detroit label Moira in 1967. Started touring and recording with P-Funk All-Stars in 1992 which led to many....
