According to the play list for the show it was the Ohio Players "Love slipped through my fingers" taken from Northern soul weekender, Charly records. Normally listen to Radio 2 in the van, but Midweek on Radio 4 was just too entertaining this morning.

Loved Al, I loved "Show and tell " before I had ever heard of "The snake " - and what about "Passport"? Great track too, but then Al was a great artist. -
This is my perennial 'ear worm' - not many days go by that I don't find myself singing, whistling or humming it - lovely to finally see it performed though! -
An awful lot of Northern classics turned out to be by blue eyed blonde girls didn't they? No bad thing in my opinion! -

I'm not sure anyone who bought the album as a new release had any idea what a monster this would end up being! Lovely song from a great album though...
