  1. Now that is something else! Top drawer clip, I can't remember a time I didn't know the tune, so nice to see it performed. Thanks for sharing.
  2. According to the play list for the show it was the Ohio Players "Love slipped through my fingers" taken from Northern soul weekender, Charly records. Normally listen to Radio 2 in the van, but Midweek on Radio 4 was just too entertaining this morning.
  3. Crikey! I had forgotten how much I liked "Wake up and be somebody " - excellent clip, tfs!
  4. Sounds like the early seventies boot - a scan would help...
  5. Not exactly 'northern' but it isn't "Testify" by the Urban Blues Project is it?
  6. I'm sure not everyone will approve, but that's what I call a play list!
  7. I think that passage is; "The Lord made Adam, and Eve made evil - he made them both, yes he did, a little naively "
  8. Doesn't he sing "we picked up a bag of fish and chips and headed for a place called home"?
  9. Art Jerry Miller "Always treat your woman (like your automobile)" ? A nice track too.
  10. I didn't really think you could - especially as you are just a bairn! But thanks for the clips, top drawer stuff!
  11. Didn't they do this on TOTP?
  12. I always loved this version!
  13. Looks like a live version of the PJ'S! Top tune though...
  14. Great to see her performance this, from a real nice album!
  15. Mine too, why didn't we get to see this in 1975?
  16. Loved Al, I loved "Show and tell " before I had ever heard of "The snake " - and what about "Passport"? Great track too, but then Al was a great artist.
  17. This is my perennial 'ear worm' - not many days go by that I don't find myself singing, whistling or humming it - lovely to finally see it performed though!
  18. An awful lot of Northern classics turned out to be by blue eyed blonde girls didn't they? No bad thing in my opinion!
  19. This is what 'cool' sounds like.
  20. Always reminds me of Stafford... that Dave Thorley always bucked a trend!
  21. Wow indeed! Top drawer stuff!
  22. Love this version! L.J. has recorded so easy absolute gems over the years!
  23. And broadened many a horizon along the way! God bless Gil.
  24. I'm not sure anyone who bought the album as a new release had any idea what a monster this would end up being! Lovely song from a great album though...
