  5. Lorraine Rudolph is superb. Took a long while before it had its day.
  6. One which arrived Saturday morning - Thelma Jones; not the best nick but it is a corker of a record and not often for sale. Two purchased on Saturday night at Gloucester - The Charles IV and Bobby Angelle. The post is great, but nothing beats getting home from a night or niter with some great new tunes in your hands.
  7. Goes a little way to explaining why I haven't a reply to my PMs..............never mind.
  8. Yes it was Dean. Well chuffed!
  9. Today's arrival. Superb.
  10. Half a dozen purchases arrived this last couple of weeks which probably reflect the fairly eclectic nature of my collecting - I buy what I fancy. Piccies below. - Lee Stone was a swap with an old mate for something which I put up for sale to raise cash for other purchases; he wanted the sale item, he knew I wanted this! - Earl Connelly is just a great cheapie which I stumbled across for the first time last week - Carl Henderson is an all-time favourite classic oldie and was for sale at a very decent price and in lovely nick - The Silver Kings was a Greg Belson spin which sounded great out loud when he came over here last year and I picked it up for a song on Ebay - The Masters was an Ebay bargain - MIke Jemison is one I used to have in a collection long gone, is just a great record and inexpensive; I was prompted to get it again because of the Butch 1991 Yarmouth set posted on here recently But the fella that got Jacqueline Jones for 10 bucks on a 'buy it now' got the best result IMHO. Nice - let me double your money, I will give you $20.
  11. Another timewaster today.
  12. He did have an issue (fairly beat up - might even have been the scan you also posted Mal) because I saw it a few years back before Rugby a/n round at Tina and Fudge's. That might well have gone when JT had to sell up and he might have acquired an acetate instead.
  13. Having awful problems uploading pics and clips folks, bear with me or PM.
  14. Hi All Clips and pics are the actual records for sale. Prices include UK postage. Reasonable offers considered. Paypal please - gift preferred or add a bit to cover fees my end. Thanks. Ernie Johnson & The Soul Blenders - "You Got To Be Faithful And True" (Duplex) VG++ £60 1984 Love Machine - "Your Breakin' My Heart" (Melon) EX £70 (has had plays and really could do well in the right hands) Little Hank - "Try To Understand" (Sound Stage 7) EX (would be NM but for the slightest hint of label wear) £100 Reluctant sales - if they don't go, in the collection they stay. temp1 152.mp3 temp2 16.mp3 temp1 190.mp3
  15. Play them over the phone! Like the old days.........
  16. You're NOT the only one?
  17. PM'd you.
  18. Likewise. Bought his stuff on occasions. Seems to be a straight and reliable dealer.
  19. Yep. That would indeed be Mick. In my mind, I can hear the words leaving his lips................
  20. Ah ha!! I think it was the Richie Havens version that I heard today. Amazing some of the tunes that end up played in these places. I was having lunch a few years ago in an Old Orleans restaurant in Cardiff and Mel & Tim 'Forever And A Day' came on.
  21. Thank you tfk. Anybody have a sound file?
  22. OK. So I am in a business meeting in the Hilton Hotel Cardiff and my ears become aware that the muzak has become interesting, the song playing seems vaguely familiar and is actually a different version of Spyder Turner's classic. A good deal slower than Spyder but the production and the singer sound soulful enough (bearing in mind that I am trying to listen above the general hullabuloo and keep track of what my boss and colleague are on about). Who is this ?
