not northern but a bit apt at the time Old Street tube station 2002 on the way to putney soul brothers getting the tube and down in the tube station atmidnight the jam comes on we were due back at the hotel midnight we thought hilarious -

An afternoon of free music from Northern soul,motown,reggae, SKA,modern club classics to anything soulful, beer promotions on the afternoon which starts from 3pm -9pm ,pool for those that want to dance with a pool cue ,wooden dance floor and it's free admission too all played on wonderful vinyl from Wayne 'shed' Butterworth & Stevie Hay see you there

Manchester is now full of Wednesday bring your own knitting events sorry to the people that run them it's not slaghing you off but would 1 event a month not be enough to fill your ego ?? i thought on the same lines of buying a venue just for northern soul through the day meeting/cafe etc and twice weekly soul gigs but i think id be throwing my money away costs to run etc

some interesting anecdotes there guys,geeselad bang on m8,i drove through what as the curry mile a while back not one curry shop open all kebab houses now,so a lot of venues gone ritz is a fortress now not like the old days and night clubs what happened at least we do have the ritz revival but its not the same cheers all for adding your pennies worth

Just had a quick browse through events,Manchester once the king of northern soul all nighters has but one ( and that's a mini one) I live here so I do know the scene etc in the area,where has it all gone we still have venues but upto April we only have one going on has the abroad weekenders, seaside resort weekenders or just the grab an anyway event day killed it off??? I seriously doubt it if you look further afield there's an abundance on so where has it all gone pete Tonge??

Welcome into the new year and our first inaugural gig of the new year ,we wish everyone a happy one too. ,Celebration in life comes in dribs and drabs, well this is the drab one steve turns 66 and retirement all on one day when our gig is on ,so let's have a party. ,Wayne Butterworth and Andy Reedy both had birthdays on 7th and 6th jan respectively and we couldn't have that date so we do it on the 17th, ,our first guest all the way from the island in Wales is a man who is used to going up and down ( being a leeds fan ) ,may I introduce Jimbo Hughes with a collection he has painstakingly put together for your enjoyment, secondly Mr John Mitchell whom needs no introduction at all to the stage with his eclectic range of vinyls ,the other two and myself will mix in through the night with northern soul,motown r n b, modern to say the least it's a 7pm start, £4 on the door huge car park, bus stop is right outside, please come and support this venue as these clubs are going out of existence....laters Stevie
