Well that attendance took us by surprise, was not expecting that with it being Blackpool weekend, the hot weather & holidays etc. The air conditioning was spot on & no talc on the dance floor for the second month running, what a great floor for dancing on.
Thanks to our guest DJ Peter Leek who played a blinding 75min set, ably backed I hope by myself & Sean T Taylor.
Thanks to our stand in door staff Ann & John Pearson for helping us out on the night, thanks to our efficient bar staff as well.

Sunday Soul at Heather. Not our best turn out but not bad for saying it was the end of a very busy souling & sporting weekend.A very hot day with the temperature touching 30C. We did what we wanted to do & give everyone a fun filled chilling Sunday afternoon. 
Many thanks to all our DJs from the West Midlands, John Stackhouse with a very enthusiastic set, Moldie & Reggae Rita combining Northern Soul & Reggae for a hot day & of course the residents Rob Gray,Sean T Taylor & moir adding to the mix. Many thanks to Lynn Gray & Marilyn Reed for doing the door & to Heather Club staff for serving up loads of Burgers, Sausages & Chips.
Thanks to regular Soulies & to all who travelled from Northampton, Leicester, West Midlands & special mention to Melinda Hogan Emery & Martin Emery who were here on a visit from America.

Well what a brilliant 1st night at our new venue. Thanks to DJs Martin Topley guesting from East Anglia, Rob Gray, Sean T for helping me out on the decks. Splendid tunes all night long I think you will agree & a packed dance floor. All seats taken by 8.45pm & just short on capacity, thanks to you all for your support for our new venue hope you all enjoyed. Also have to thank Anna Lloyd & Marilyn Reed for door duties.
Special mention to Mick & Karen Cooper for making the move to Heather Football Club possible, thank you both.

Another fab night out at Ibstock. Great attendance once again, thank you all for your continued support.
Our policy is to play to the dance floor & our main guest Gaz Simpson read the floor brilliantly & I know he felt it was well worth the 4 hour round trip for his 1st appearance at our club. Vernon Smith a regular guest & master CD maker was his usual self, a popular guest as always. Sean played the last hour & kept the floor busy until the end. One person missing last night was my wife Maz & she would like to thank everyone who spoke to me & passed on there kind thoughts at this difficult time. 
Many thanks to John Pearson for looking after the door as my daughter Anna was also ill which left me a little short staffed.

January is usually a very cold depressing month, but not last night if you attended Ibstock Soul Club. What a great social gathering of Soulies it was, with everyone wanting to get out & stretch those legs after the Christmas indulgences. Many thanks to our Guest DJs Andy Powell & Steve Grubb, both playing cracking sets, me & Sean filling the gaps & keeping the dance floor busy. Thanks to Anna Lloyd & John Pearson for looking after an unexpectedly busy door. Thanks to the Ibstock Central Club who seemed to have resolved the difficulties they had over the busy Christmas period & lastly thanks to all the Soulies that turned up last night in there ever increasing numbers. As I said last night I am very proud of you all. Enjoy the photos.

Well a packed night at Ibstock for our annual Christmas Party, our best ever attended soul night. Fantastic atmosphere & fab tunes from all of the DJs. Didn't get a group photo of the DJs which is a shame. Many thanks to Anna Lloyd & John Pearson for looking after the door.
I know there was a few issues with the Central Club that were beyond my control but i hope it didn't detract from the night as a whole because otherwise there has been some great feedback thanks.
10 years of Ibstock & this has defo been our best year so can we thank you all our members old & new from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support.

A lot said about Ibstocks 10th Anniversary night already, your reactions speak volumes & makes the effort & hard work to put on these nights well worth it. 
Four DJs spun some great nostalgic tunes played at Ibstock over the last 10 years + Simon Hunt spinning what is current on the scene today. Vernon Smith started the night off spinning mainly tunes featured on the complimentary CD, followed by Rob Gray, making a welcome return to Ibstock after 11 months away again featuring tunes from the last 10 years & deserved his great round of applause, then me playing your Ibstock favourites, then Simon & last but not least Sean T.
Magic night, fabulous soulies, brilliant atmosphere, Thank you.

A great weekend in the Buck Inn, brilliant tunes & atmosphere over the Soul weekend. Was there on Sunday afternoon when £1000 was taken behind the bar & was immediately donated to the prostrate cancer fund. Well done to the publican, the DJs & all the Soulies who contributed. Richard.

What a great night at Ibstock last night, After an unusually slow start numbers were eventually well up on last months. Many thanks to all the DJs Andy Powell,Vernon Smith, Sean T with support from myself & for some brilliant tunes keeping the dance floor busy. Hope you agree defo the place to be on the 3rd Friday of each month. Thanks to John Pearson, Anna Lloyd & Maz for looking after the door. Last but not least thanks to all the Soulies old & new for making this another great event.

Here we go, what another brilliant night at Ibstock Soul Club, without  doubt the premier soul night in North West Leicestershire. Here's a snapshot of what you missed or what you enjoyed if you attended.
Another good attendance & two excellant guest DJs. Firstly Steve B Burke who travelled down from Rotherham played a great set as you can see with his published play list. Sam Evans from Hinckley who again set the bar very high with every tune a dance floor filler which is hard to do for an hour. Sean T who was spinning some new tunes, spending his dosh & lastly me (mine host) playing the link man between all the DJs. Unprecedented to see the dance floor so full all night. Thanks to the Central club for putting on extra bar staff & preparing an excellent dance floor. Thanks to Anna Lloyd, John Pearson & Marilyn Reed for looking after the door. Special thanks to all you soulies who keep on supporting our club that goes from strength to strength, sorry i had to pull the plug at 1.10am. See you all next month 21st April.

Well Ibstock certainly enhanced its reputation as the biggest & best Soul Club In North West Leicestershire. Top guest Djs in Jamie Trundle from the East Coast, it was his 1st gig at Ibstock & the Soulies really warmed to him as he played to the dancers on the floor. Jamie will be back. Ted Massey back guesting at Ibstock, always popular & didn't disappoint playing a good mix of floorfillers, again Ted will be back. Sean T & myself ably backed up the guests to keep the dance floor full all night. A fabulous attendance thank you all for your support. What a night last night, our best ever attended night. Thanks to the DJs Mick Andrew Reynolds, Sandra Doherty, Wendy Upton Whibley, Sean T with support from mine host for putting on a fantastic night of music that kept the dance floor full all night. Many thanks to all our regular soulies that came with lots of new faces attending you were all superb.

Another great night at Ibstock Soul Club & the attendance was again slightly up on the previous month.
Trying out some DJs over the summer who have not spun at Ibstock before & this months 1st spinner COLIN DOUGLAS did not disappoint, he was given the 1st spot & played some great floor warmers, Colin will be back next year. Full marks to ROB GRAY who was up next who spun a great mix despite not being well & wasn't originally in the line up. Then it was my turn & I was followed by our main guest STEVE GRUBB, always spins an excellent set. Then finally the return of SEAN T spinning all your favourites to end the evening.

Another well attended night at Ibstock well up on last month.
All the DJs were subline tonight from our special guest Rob Harris from Nottingham, first time behind the decks for Rob at Ibstock & he didnt disappoint, he will be back. Moldie (Mick Andrew Reynolds) again filling the gap left by the Sean T, great mix of tunes again. Resident Rob Gray playing an early rare tunes slot & mixing it up for his 2nd spot. Just mention myself & hope everyone enjoyed as i mixed it up a little to. Dance floor very busy all night.
Special thanks to Lyn Gray our lovely door lady who was very busy & told me i wasn't giving her enough time to have a chat with everyone as they came through the door.lol.
Teri-dawn Atkinson, the manageress at the club, who works like a trojan horse & is very supportive of the soul club.
I would like to thank everyone for supporting local independant soul clubs like Ibstock & many others in Leicestershire. I try to use & support as many local DJs as i can who never get a chance with the nationally organised events & i have to say there are a lot of good DJs locally.
Finally Ibstock is now getting recognised in the media with a mention on Radio Leicester this morning. I will be on the Monica Winfield show on Radio Leicester on Saturday 13th August talking all things Ibstock & more.

Defo the best venue in the town outside The Pavilion & all for a good cause.

All the soulies from Ibstock Soul Club will be back. 

All though the attendance was slightly down on previous months the music played by the DJs was at its best.
Sean T couldn't make it because of other commitments so Vernon Smith from Manchester took his place and then when Rob Gray didn't recover from an illness Mick Andrew Reynolds (Moldie) from Dudley came to the rescue. Many thanks both of you.
So lets start with Vern who has his own collection of Northern tunes and never fails to deliver, he remembers the Twisted Wheel days with fondness and it shows in his selection. He is not well known on the circuit but other clubs should give a chance, he will not let you down.
Moldie is becoming a bit of a regular now with a good mix of Northern, Motown and reggae tunes, keeping the dance floor busy as did all the DJs.
Special guest Rob Smith from Nottingham was at his very best with a good mix of Northern floor fillers with a few rarities thrown in. Defo his best set at Ibstock.
I believe for the 1st time ever all the DJs had a great round of aplause at the end of their sets from all the soulies on the night.
Goes to prove it dosen't have to be packed to have a good night.

Well here we go again and a another soulful night at Ibstock despite the awful weather conditions the evening was very well attended. Many thanks to all the guest DJs Simon Hunt,Vernon Smith & Steve Wileman who all played great sets and something a little different to the turntables in the absence of Rob & Sean. Thanks to our door ladies Marilyn & Jo, thanks to Terrie from the Central Club but most of all thanks to all the Soulies who turned up once again. Without you there wouldn't be an Ibstock. Expect the unexpected & I did. First time I have guested at this venue & what a surprise. What a friendly bunch of soulies who kept the dance floor full all night. Jed, Rob Tom & John played to the audience who were very appreciative  of the tunes selected by the resident DJs. I had a quite early spot at 9.30 but that didn't matter as the floor was very busy, amazed at how many requests for tunes there was which made my spot very easy. Thanks to everyone for a brilliant night & hopefully I will be back soon if not DJing than just for a good night out. Thanks everyone for welcoming me. RIchard.

Nice review Lynn, thank you, couldn't have summed it up any better. Just liked to mention & thank you & Maz for looking after the door now we are having to use wristbands because of the ever increasing numbers coming to our new venue in which everyone seems to love. Special thanks to you Lynn as it was obvious you were struggling with your illness but you saw the night out like a trooper with your usual welcoming smile.

 Ibstock Soul Clubs new venue (Ibstock Central) Got to say feedback as been very positive thank you. Dance floor was exceptional, great surface to dance on and no talc required. I think the attendance took myself and the club by surprise especially as most of you only had a few days notice of the change. Looks like we will have to open the whole room out for next month. All the DJs played massively good sets on 30 min spots. Bigger room less atmosphere, didn't turn out that way at all, it was good to be back home in our original but much improved venue. The new lighting in the dance hall was spot on to. Thanks to all the soulies old & new who came & supported us, didn't hear anyone say they wouldn't be back. Thanks also to the management and staff of the club for making us all so welcome has did our lovely door lady Lynn. Onwards & upwards. Richard
