  3. I have recently cashed in on the popularity of tracks like Jon Lucien, Marv Johnson, Merle Spears etc, stuff that I picked up but never really listen to. There are tracks that will never be sold no matter how high they go, Soul Communicators, Willie Hutch etc etc I personally think prices cant go much higher on some of the things that have found popularity recently but I have been wrong many times before.
  4. Recently I have purchased: Skinhead Jamboree - great Trojan comp, Cool Heat - Funk comp, Soul Spectrum Vol 2 - comp by Keb Darge and also bought Soul of New York from Goldmine? 16. This is a lost and found story. Back in the late 70's had a mate who had a flat in Balham ) lovely part of town ) anyway went up for the weekend of the Notting Hill Carnival and had a great weekend buying Reggae and Soul 45's and not paying more than 25p for 'em. Loads of guys just had stalls by the side of the road and all the shops were having massive clear out sales. Anyway, on the Monday night got back to Cheltenham station, put the box down while we waited for the next taxi and..... yes you guessed it, got in the cab and heade off towards Bishops Cleeve. Got to Cheltenham race course ( about 4 miles ) before I realised what I had done, turned the cab around, went back and.... they were still exactly where I left them. Reason I got so excited was among the couple of 100 reggae and Motown things I had found some nice Uk stuff and a red issue of Dena Barnes!!!!!!! Happy days.

Richard Pack is a very reliable collector/dealer and I believe he used to be involved in the magazine that Martin Koppell used to run from Canada - s**t I cant remeber what it was called now!!
  20. Mega rarity for Dave Thorley I thought?

  22. With respect to the subs for the mag, nobody is having a go at Dave ( or at least I am not ), I was more disappointed the mag stopped. The reviews were great, he gave away free 45's every issue and some of his reviews were brilliantly funny. Having said that, if somebody takes my money for something and doesnt deliver I reserve the right to mention it.
  23. No, I think he means Soul Galore? Basically an A5 magazine of 45's with current pricing, bootleg info, 45's for sale etc. I paid for a subscription for this as well.
  24. I got mine from Adey Pierce, he may still have some copies.
  25. I had a copy of Open The Door To Your Heart by some Canadian bird whose name I cant remember on Canadian Capitol. I thought it sounded a bit country and sold it on and a couple of years later I see it on a dealers list!!!! Any one remember her name?
