  5. Rod, stop being silly, you know you love it.
  6. Phil, I liked your post, because opinion is what makes it all interesting. But on this one, we're gonna disagree i'm afraid. And you know, I have the better ear for it, right. x

A collection of moments captured on celluloid.
  8. It isn't RnB at all. Its full on Northern Soul. A smattering of harmonica doesn't make a track RnB.
  9. It was first played by Gary Rushbrooke in 1980, he first played it covered as the "Mandingos" it was a one off when he first played it, he shortly after changed the c/u name to the Fantastic Four. It was around the Same time that he was playing the The Cashmeres which he had covered up as the "Volcanoes" Both records sat great together in his set.
  10. Might be my age and the fact that i'm a group soul nut, I've found over recent years I've retreated into the early 60's, then the 50's. I've now found myself listening to black vocal group harmony from the 40's. It's post war black harmony groups. Most of which were recording for a white audience, then suddenly The Ravens in 1949 recorded an unreleased track 'Please Believe Me' and in the same session the very rare release on National records 'Count Every Star'. Could it be this release that set Doo-Wop and later Soul in train. Certainly, it was pivotal in black artists breaking free of their white audience and an explosion of recordings for a black audience, Doo-Wop and Soul was born. Could it be that Jimmy Ricks and Warren Suttles are actually the fore fathers of our music?

The issue is not Green, but actually Red, according to Mike Norriega.
  15. Yes, and in England it will stay forever. .... I gave Kitch my word. It may reside with me, but it will always be 'Kitch's Copy'
  16. I didn't realise any of the original 3 copies went back to the US Marc?
  17. Mick, is that a scan of your copy of the Mello Souls up on JM auction?
  18. And worth every penny of the £7,000. Uptempo, awesome tight harmonies, messy backing and an harmonica break to die for. Never really caught on, but to my ears, one of the best.
  19. If we conclude a general positive consensus, then you will be granted permission and you can rest assured that everything will be okay. The best thing to do is list the item in question on this forum, so we can ascertain whether you will not be breaking any of our coveted rules. Kind regards, Andy

Also, did the seller have 4 buyers or 4 copies or 4 items or maybe just elated I guess?
