Here is a photo I took at the beginning of May of a Mallard with 11 babies. Sadly, she has only got 9 now but they’re growing fast so it looks like the 9 may survive. Last week a family of swans decided to show their beaks along the canal. The tree photo. No explanation, I just find it fascinating. Photos took on my iPhone

Yeah we have a few tray feeders too and they (we have a chubby and a thinner robin visit us) go on there, but this little sucker is quite ambitious as he does keep trying to get on the hanging feeders. He has managed to get on one of them, cling on & snatch some feed. Cheers for the heads up re: your feed Your Robins sounds delightful especially the cheeky one 🙂

Hi Ste All is good here thanks. I'm currently working from home which I didn't think I would like (because you know what a chatterbox I am) but I'm actually loving it and it's obviously keeping me and my 82 yr old Dad safe so I'm happy doing it for as long as it takes. Hope everyone at your end is doing well and not killing each other if you're all locked down together. Gosh knows when we'll see each other again but I look forward to the day when we do ,so I can chew your ears off once again :-) Take care & bye for now Ali

Hi Guys & Gals Here is a picture that I’ve extracted from a 2 second I-phone video that I took of a little Robin that visits us quite a lot. It struggles to get on the feeders with its little legs so usually waits for other birds (blue tits & goldfinches like the one pictured) to knock seeds onto the floor but I guess that day it couldn’t be arsed waiting

A nice, but sad reminder of little John. Still bump into Christine, occasionally, and always give her the most massive hug (without crushing her tiny frame) as it’s people like her & John that made the scene great. So very sad to hear the passing of Pete. He was the loveliest blokes with the coolest of records. I too have fond memories of him & Viv in the backroom at Lowton. What a smashing little room that was that he brought to life with his passion. Rest In Peace you True Blue. You will be missed. Oh my goodness, I never wanted that footage to end Chalky! So many people I recognise on the 100 Club, Bradford & Yarmouth clips. The Bradford clip was taken above where I used to hang out with the lovely Geordies, most of them were dancing. I kind of wanted to see myself on the footage, but knowing me & how shy I was back then I would have hidden at the sign of someone videoing. I know I was there that night as I have photos of my mates in the same clothes. Same with the Yarmouth clip (Sheila & Geoff on a photo in the same clothes) Awww, what a lovely trip down memory lane & I would go back there in a shot!!!! Thanks for posting Chalky Ali x

A Funeral fit for a King & by heck what Soul Royalty were in attendance. I won’t mention any names as these guys are humble fellas who have been, & still are, a massive influence on the scene & don’t blow their own trumpets. Superb gentlemen, very much like Boxy. I adored Dave & will never forget my Soul Dad. Someone so special can never be forgotten. Val you did your David proud & I hope the many who attended gave you great comfort.
