  1. Thankfully there is still loads of real soul music to go at and I will only be buying stuff that is definitely real, what other than money for the creators is this any use for, when real artistry is what music is all about, all the ai creators seem to peddle the same crap "I wanted to see how it turned out" and then release it to the public.

  7. Went to see those three at the Doncater Dome on the same tour, David Sea was on backing vocals too.
  8. Marvin was definitely supported by Rose Banks her single "Darling Baby" was on UK release at the time a nice version of the Elgins.
  9. Beat me to it, I just found it myself Owd codgers mind is not playing tricks 🙂👍
  10. Not trying to say you are wrong but the Spinners were massive in the 70s and to tour with the Four Tops would be a dream but two different label artists who were both big I would assume improbable but I do not know just a hunch.
  11. I have a Four Tops Concert programme from mid 70s I will dig it out tomorrow and see the tour itinerary.

  17. Here's the clip Mike BBC News - How Northern Soul helped ADHD Sheffield teenager keep the faith - BBC News BBC NewsHow Northern Soul helped ADHD Sheffield teenager keep the...Keiven from Sheffield, who has ADHD and dyslexia, discovered the scene through his grandfather.
  18. The Hannah Reem video above adds to the debate that straight covers add nothing to originals and a waste of time, nothing against Hannah she is a great singer but the covers leave me cold even though she songs them brilliantly. If a cover is to be done rework the original not just a carbon copy.

  20. Bought a few soul packs from Oldies Unlimited, one I remember was a "Revilot" pack nothing much of note J.J. Barnes "Now She's Gone" and a copy of "Don't Be Sore At Me" we're in one. Was always buying things blind back in the day, every market seemed to have a box of U.S. soul singles, probably why my taste in soul is of all types and i never binned much apart from funk.
  21. I would imagine when more releases are forthcoming Sean or members of the team would be on here promoting them.
  22. These sound like the same record to my ears, but I do wear aids.
  23. The Calla recording 1969 the House of Fox 1970.
  24. Thought Little Johnny Blair was a pseudonym for the artist Charles Hodges who recorded for Calla amongst others and cut the b side under his own name.
  25. Don't know anything about its creation but versions were cut on Motown, Tammi Terrell cut a great version and also cut by Marvin and Kim Weston.
