Cover Ups
Many Dj's in the past would use a beer mat to cover the label, Remember going to have a peek at what was playing, It was a fantastic tune The artist was called "Watneys" and the song was called "Pale Ale"

It'S Just A Night Out, Is It?
Fantastic thread, It's very hard for people who have never been involved or beacame a member of the Northern Soul scene,To understand just what it is that makes people like us tick, My wife likes a few tunes, but finds it hard to believe that I can sit at home looking at SS all night long,Many times I just read and never reply,I just like to see other peoples views on the subject, So it must have made an impact on me somewere in my life to make myself and many others just to keep on staying with it, No time in my adult life(14 til 50) have I ever stopped loving the music,Don't get me wrong I'm not out there at All-Nighters every week,or even at Northern nights in general, But yes I think Northern Soul changed my life,I think it gave me a wider outlook on things that I may not have thought of,I think it gave me a belief in friendship, And yes it's "a night out",But more often than not a bloody good one at that

Well said, and let that be the end of it!!!- Where In The World
In the living room of our house, In the quaint little town of Bury, Manchester,World famous for it's er, er, erm, one minute I'll think of it in a minute, what the hell is it, Black pudding, pigs blood and fat,That's our claim to fame,- Talc At Venues

What !!!! Silicon spray on a chapped arse," Now you can call me old fashioned but NO" Grant- Dena Barnes - 'these Heartaches'
I had the Dena Barnes "These Heartachesl",Thought it was a great tune,Many years ago talking to Mr Searling,And it came up in conversation about Wigan tunes,And I asked him about it and he could not remember it,Wonder if he does now?? Grant- Talc At Venues
Think I may have mentioned this before, But coming out from the Casino,The morning after the night before, with your shoes covered in "White" powder, "What me officer" Grant- Talc At Venues
Not to sure about now,"But back in the day",Talc for me and my mates was much a part of the Adidas bag as a clean shirt,And a can of smelly,Normaly "Brut 33" or "Hai Karate", Apart from putting the talc on the floor(don't know why it never made me a better dancer),I would use it after about 4 or 5 hours of wearing those patched denim bags,Sweating like a pig,to stop my arse from being even more chapped Grant- Applause Please
Carry on Clapping, I thought it was wonderful, when everyone would clap together during the record, and even better at the end,A true part of the night,One that should stay with us all really, I understand about the (now not so rare)comment,"Back in the day" when most of us were only kids,You only got to hear certain sounds once in a blue moon,So it was a thank you I think to the Dj for having the record and them also playing it,I also believed then and now that it was a "pat on the back" To the singer also, Anyroad "Keep The Clap" And be a happy clapper, And I should know the times I've had clap,OOPS sorry clapped Grant- Sunday Picture Quiz
