Barbara Mcnair Uk Demo Whoops
Seller sold it for 470 quid and yet didn't bother to post it in a proper mailer and to write "fragile - do not bend" on the parcel? *facepalm*

Eddie Holman - Where I'm Not Wanted
Yep. Mixed up both titles

Eddie Holman - Where I'm Not Wanted
Oops, I had it down as late 90s. But just learned it was late 80s.

Eddie Holman - Where I'm Not Wanted
Sorry you're indeed wrong. It's Eddies' take of "She's wanted" (Larry Clinton) that was issued on G2K. The slower take of "I surrender" came out on a Goldmine LP/CD before Universal. Don't know if "where I'm not wanted" is also on that album. Wasn't "Where I'm not wanted" included in the Goldmine Wigan Casino 25th Anniversary 7" box?

Northern Soul Monster Tempests Someday (On Stardust)
Like you I always assumed it's Martin Kopell. First Stardust releases appeared in the early 90s, or at least that's when I saw them for the first time. Tempests around mid 90s at a guess. IMO Stardust is nothing but a bootleg label, period. They might be legal in Canada due to a loophole in copyright laws but surely aren't licenced at all. Bit like the belgian Marginal CDs from the 90s. If a record is re-released w/out consent of owner of rights it's a bootleg. Whoever bought that specific Tempests 45 on Ebay bought it to dj with. "45 has better sound quality than the LP", that's just bullshit unless the only copy of the LP one has ever played was a G- US mono press. I've owned/heard various presses of the LP over the years, canadian, dutch stereo, german stereo and they all have supreme sound quality.

Stunning Piece Of Motown Collectable - Lewis Sisters W/ Picture Sleeve
For sale a stunning piece of Motown collectable: THE LEWIS SISTERS - YOU NEED ME - GERMAN TAMLA MOTOWN w/ Picture Sleeve! Seriously rare german original on the nice looking dark green/silver Tamla-Motown label. This is only the second copy I've ever held in my hands and only the third copy I ever heard of. Very very hard to find as it sank without trace on release. Pete Smith once sold a copy in similar condition for 100 GBP and it went immediately so don't hesitate. Record is in EX condition, close to NM. Sleeve is VG++ close to EX. Looks great, very small # written in top left corner, tiny little wear on top edge otherwise beautiful. Asking price is 75 quid incl. worldwide registered p&p and Paypal fees. Payment Paypal only. Please PM for further details.

Everything is said but not yet by everyone

Has Colin Curtis Sold His Collection?
Russ Winstanley, Brian Rae and Chris King are three that come to my mind immediately.

Northern Soul Monster Tempests Someday (On Stardust)
There should be plenty of copies of the LP around. Off the top of my head I recall US mono/stereo, canadian mono (stereo too?), dutch stereo (renamed "well tempered soul") and german stereo.

Whats Going On With This Seller?
Have to withdraw my previous statement. Just saw that Ebay UK forces all sellers to accept Paypal. I didn't know that. Ebay Germany requires Paypal only for sellers below or above a certain rating threshold (+50? +100?).

Whats Going On With This Seller?
Seller wants postal orders only so where's the problem?

Bob Meyer - I Only Get That Feeling - Going Rate?

John Anderson's Soul Junction Does It Again, Hopkins Bros
That's how I understand it used to be back in the 70s. But is it still the same nowadays?
-
John Anderson's Soul Junction Does It Again, Hopkins Bros
are there really that many reissues of current newies/biggies? I mean if folks are reissueing/pressing each and every newie within 1/2 years after its first spin I sure would agree with Andy D. or Arthur. But folks aren't, from what I understand most of todays "hot" sounds are still exclusive and limited to just a few copies. So what's all the fuss about? And that's leaving out the fact that being against a reissue where the artists would financially benefit from is pretty selfish IMO.

Comedy Sale Of The Day
You're sure these Billy Butlers are fake? I mean, some original Okeh demos came in all sorts of colour and the scans look real to me. I know, seller states these are reissues....

Put this to bed? - Drifter Stuart Smith version
Yes, he told me that when I met him in the mid 90s.

Put this to bed? - Drifter Stuart Smith version
No, Long John Baldry never heard of Ray Pollard when he recorded his versions of both sides.

On Top Of The World - The Stafford All-Nighters Podcasts
I quite like the Gas Powered Clock instrumental, but not as a Northern track more as a pop one. I think the Leo Wright cut sounds quite different to the United Four cut I'm used to. Will see if I can find my United Four mp3 and if it's really just a speeded up Leo Wright. Do you know if original acetate is uncredited?

Comedy Sale Of The Day
Stardust is a bootleg label so you might get yourself a carver, Tempests one side, Willie Kendricks the other. Saves you money.
-
What Issue Is This, Johnny Sayles
I know it's been discussed before. But I seriously doubt that the no-address-press is a bootleg. It looks just too good for a pressing (e.g. sharp print definition, two colour print on label). Does anyone know did the bootleg and when?

Acetate " Baby " Who Is It?
First audio clip sounds like a publisher's demo to me. 2nd clip is definitely Doug Banks singing over the demo backing.

On Top Of The World - The Stafford All-Nighters Podcasts
Leo Wright, nice surprise. Didn't know there was another version of this song. I only knew the United Four c/up one (acetate only). United Four was first played by Richard Searling wasn't it? Gasoline Powered Clock, it's the (daft) vocal side on the podcast. Wasn't it the instrumental side that got played?
