Mark Loyd - When I'm Gonna Find Her - Parlophone
It definitely was played in Scotland at some time in the past. I can remember the playlist for a scottish allnighter printed in Shades of Soul early 90s. Reason why I remember that so well is that ML didn't really fit in with all the US stuff on that playlist. Nice record, very atmospheric but more quality pop than Northern IMO

Buddy Cantrell On Tuska
Didn't know any of the records discussed in this thread I just played all the RefoSoul ones posted. Sorry guys, but they're average at best, most tunes are crap. Have you guys lost your senses for good singers, talent and quality productions on your search for the next unknown record? For example that Buddy Cantrell 45 one is off key, disjointed and all around shite. Phew, now I got that off my chest I'm ready for you to tar and feather me...

Charles Johnson
those 40 secs are the best part of the whole song! Why on earth they never issued a 12" of it. If I could go back in time I'd say the folks at Alston ditch the Lew Kirton 12" and go for Charles Johnson instead.

Chris, that was maybe two years ago when there was a huge demand for it. I recall Edu from Barcelona having trouble recently to get rid of his copy @ 250 or was it 275? I'd say 250 or 300 max if buyer is really desperate. I sold my copy a few weeks ago for 250 and wouldn't pay more for it. Not really rare as already said, I had 2-3 copies over the years, none of them off center

Weird Northern Soul Artists Names
I know it's his real name but I always thought Sherlock Holmes is a rather odd name for a singer

After 1,000+ Packages Mailed, 2 Have Gone Missing
With every respect but I somehow think you got your Ebay listing wrong in the beginning. When sellers put something for sale on Ebay they can clearly state the postage rates for each and every region, e.g. UK/Europe/Rest of World in the "Shipping and Payments" part. So from wherever buyers might be they get the correct postage quoted in their invoices don't they?

That Other Place
I discussed that with the other three personalities and we all find this very unfair and infact discriminating against any physically non-existing persons! I'd challenge you to fight to the death by light saber but they other three can't be bothered and are already off to the pub...
-
Milton Wright Info Required
Number of 250 pressed is quoted in the other thread. Considering how many people were into Northern Soul back in the 70s this is very small number, I guess most copies just disappeared over the years.
-
That Other Place
Never told that before in public but I have several split personalities inside me (at least four), one has already voted and the other three also go for WF so that's 19-13 in favour of a proper soul record.

Having A Laugh. Prices Plus Paypal Fees
From a psychological point of view I'm sure many buyers are put off when they read they have to pay extra on top of record price and p&p. I certainly am. Top tip for all greedy record dealers: why not add 3% plus ca. 30p to the "cheap as chips" price of the record and say you're covering Paypal fees? Increases your number of happy customers for sure..
-
Having A Laugh. Prices Plus Paypal Fees
Agree with you. Unless the price for a record incl. p&p and fees is still fair and reasonable I won't bother. And I just don't happen to see that many fair and reasonable priced records I'd buy on SS these days

Ebay Bootleggers 84 Items Now
I have a dozen or so A La Carte CDs that I got via CD swaps and always assumed they were some sort of home made CDs for swapping purpose only. Doing CDs for swaps is absolutely fine with me, to me it's the successor to the old tape swappers scene. But seeing they are trying to do this on a business level sickens me.

Problem On Ebay
I can imagine having to deal with dickheads using different accounts can be a pain in the arse. The way I do it: Sending the invoice straight after auction ended. No money 7 days after end of auction? Then Ebay unpaid item disute. No money after another 7 days (i.e. 14 days after the auction ended)? Then I close the dispute (buyer gets an unpaid item remark which unfortunately only the folks at Ebay can see) and either get my fees credited, relist item or offer it to 2nd highest bidder, depending on item and finishing price.

Lily Fields On Kent
Being from Germany I'm not familiar with the whole "structure" of allnighters/soul nights in the UK, i.e. which one's the biggest/best/bla bla. "Key player DJs" in the sense of promoting a previously unreleased track should be DJs who can reach a wider part of the target audience not just a few well known "names".

Frank Beverly - If Thats What You Wanted
400 to 500 maybe on planet Angloamerican but not on planet earth. As said in another thread, IMO unless they have a specific appeal to a collector (e.g. alternative take) mainland Euro releases value much lower than their US counterparts. And the copy I know of locally has the centre intact as well, so TB talking bullshit. If I had a copy for sale, I'd price it at 100 maybe 150 on a greedy day.
