Never told that before in public but I have several split personalities inside me (at least four), one has already voted and the other three also go for WF so that's 19-13 in favour of a proper soul record.
  2. From a psychological point of view I'm sure many buyers are put off when they read they have to pay extra on top of record price and p&p. I certainly am. Top tip for all greedy record dealers: why not add 3% plus ca. 30p to the "cheap as chips" price of the record and say you're covering Paypal fees? Increases your number of happy customers for sure..
  3. Agree with you. Unless the price for a record incl. p&p and fees is still fair and reasonable I won't bother. And I just don't happen to see that many fair and reasonable priced records I'd buy on SS these days

Wade Flemons' the one for me.
  5. I have a dozen or so A La Carte CDs that I got via CD swaps and always assumed they were some sort of home made CDs for swapping purpose only. Doing CDs for swaps is absolutely fine with me, to me it's the successor to the old tape swappers scene. But seeing they are trying to do this on a business level sickens me.

And on german Hit-Ton as the b-side to an awful version of White Christmas.
  8. Last bump, all auctions around 5.25 pm BST
  9. Auctions ending this coming sunday. All but one starting at 99p!!!
  10. Is it "just another dress rehearsal"?
  11. I can imagine having to deal with dickheads using different accounts can be a pain in the arse. The way I do it: Sending the invoice straight after auction ended. No money 7 days after end of auction? Then Ebay unpaid item disute. No money after another 7 days (i.e. 14 days after the auction ended)? Then I close the dispute (buyer gets an unpaid item remark which unfortunately only the folks at Ebay can see) and either get my fees credited, relist item or offer it to 2nd highest bidder, depending on item and finishing price.
  12. Being from Germany I'm not familiar with the whole "structure" of allnighters/soul nights in the UK, i.e. which one's the biggest/best/bla bla. "Key player DJs" in the sense of promoting a previously unreleased track should be DJs who can reach a wider part of the target audience not just a few well known "names".
  13. 400 to 500 maybe on planet Angloamerican but not on planet earth. As said in another thread, IMO unless they have a specific appeal to a collector (e.g. alternative take) mainland Euro releases value much lower than their US counterparts. And the copy I know of locally has the centre intact as well, so TB talking bullshit. If I had a copy for sale, I'd price it at 100 maybe 150 on a greedy day.
  14. It's not about creating interest for a future vinyl release. Quinvy's point was that LF should have been given to key player DJs to raise interest for the CD release.
  15. Why blocking all bids from Russia? Just because of one non-paying winner? I sold about 30-40 records on Ebay over the summer, two of them went to Russia. Both deals went ok even tho one of the buyers needed a gentle push via an Ebay unpaid item strike At the same time I had three non-paying winners from England, all three went through the unpaid item process with fees eventually credited. Shall I block all UK bids now?
  16. Didn't know both and Lily Fields is indeed a great track. Second one's a goodie too, somehow I think I had heard it at this years 100 club anniversary. Or at least one with very similar background singers
  17. That's about its going rate I think, 50-75. I love it tho I can see why people say it's disco shite, vocals are ok but the backing is quite cheesy in parts.
  18. Of course a boot.
  19. There's a copy in a collection here in Munich, wish I could say it's mine...
  20. For sale: NABAY - BELIEVE IT OR NOT - GRAPEVINE UK (EX) £30 incl. postage within Europe. Cash or Paypal. Please PM for details, thanks.
  21. I agree with you. When I started collecting german 45s again I thought I had owned, seen or at least heard of most worthwhile releases before, yet I find german releases new to almost every week.
  22. I don't think there are any really high 3 fig or even 4 fig mainland Euro releases. The most expensive one (400-450) I know of is John St John because it couples both of Chapter 5 UK 45s and is therefore some sort of value-for-money . Willie Hutch on French RCA ("Love runs out"/"The duck") could fetch more for sure. But I haven't seen one for sale in public, only know of one copy that changed hands in a private deal for 300.
  23. Chris Bartley is infact the singer, I think he's even credited on the sleeve? Long time since I sold my copy...
  24. Few come to mind immediately that always sell for big money Lenny Curtis - Spanish HIT John St John - German Ariola/Italien whatever Seven Souls - French EP (forgot label) Willie Hutch - French RCA plus the german RCA test press of Judy Freeman featuring the ext. take of "hold on" which never comes for sale (Who owns it now?) but would certainly fetch loads...
