  1. not everyone's after the first issues only, some collect more obscure issues or even UK IMHO the ones to have is the one you first come across, be it minit, UK london, imperial or whatsoever legal release. all 3 releases are collectable, no matter which one was the first. i mean 1962-1964, what's two years difference after 40+ years?
  2. that's correct, imperial one is dog rare and was either immediately withdrawn or a mispress. going by the number of copies around the latter is more likely
  3. nice one is it the album version mentioned? and which album did it come from?
  4. ah! didn't know it was "reproduced" so it's the original US E.P. that came with a picture cover ...
  5. i never knew it came in coloured vinyl but i knew it came with a picture sleeve (actually never seen it for sale w/out sleeve), only way to get it on 7" isn't it?

  12. yes, german RCA test pressing of a complete judy freeman & blackrock album that to my knowledge remained unissued (and was shite anyway). i didn't get it from ebay but from an ex-sound engineer who used to work for german RCA in cologne...

they did one with ray pollard's "this time" on the flip. but i meant a "proper" reissue, i.e. with the original flipside. its one of my alltime favourites and among the best tracks shrine ever issued (IMHO). anyone with 600 dpi scans of both sides of the shirley edwards 45? i'm off to vinyl carvers in a minute

speaking of rare shrine 45s, does anyone know if shirley edwards was ever re-issued? i somehow have a feeling my chances of ever getting an original are rather bad ... PS. checked popsike for shrine 45s, loads of them on ebay but most in rather bad condition. i guess it's not hard to find any shrine records, it's hard to find them in playable condition...

  20. i'm also after a copy if anyone can help me out?
  21. makes sense in some cases, i got a 7" solid center 33 rpm issue of jimmy mcgriff's "all about my girl" that is over 4 mins long whereas the 45 rpm ends at about 2:30 min. edit: both records are on the US sue label, there's no hint on the 33 rpm 45 it might originate from south america or so ...

i have a EX copy tucked away that i might sell, i think it's the more common one (i.e. "no.1"), please PM if interested and i'll try to find it, ok?

  24. chalky, you're sure you're not wrong by approx. a decade? back in 1993/1994 there weren't that many returnees were there? back then me and paul were both swapping tapes with a quite a few UK collectors and none of them knew the vanguards (paul also picked up their other rarity and that one was covered as by the dells too).
