  1. i doubt it came out in germany, the scans shown here are from the dutch and the french release
  2. agreed, get a decent one like sennheiser, stanton or technics. may cost a bit, but your ears will thank you and the phones don't snap that easily and usually last very long.
  3. you guys think the auction is still going after two years?

was dubbed from master, i think the tapes came from ron murphy? brilliant double-sider, wish i'd never sold my copy, you don't see it around these days does anyone know from which 45 the backing track for "WYGD" was taken? wasn't it something on parkway?

MELLO SOULS!!! it's the epitome of rare northern soul IMO .... and i don't have to listen to a crap quality low-fi mp3 any longer
  6. thanks! will give it a try tonight, am hiding behind a corporate firewall right now...
  7. pete, any way of downloading the podcasts?
  8. how about the dream team on gregory? first 1000+, then down to 100-ish after a few boxes were found... tho it's increasing in value again, isnt it?
  9. yep, it was me. the 45 is supposed to be framed so no need to be an original. BTW, i'm still after it, anyone?
  10. brilliant piece of soul music but doesnt "qualifiy" as it was known/played/around long time before released on kent isnt it the flip on the "lean lanky daddy" acetate?

thanks! "includes original demo recordings" = no original 60s release? some sort of "best of plus a few out-takes thrown in"? looks very interesting, what label is it?
  12. hmm, i think it depends on what style you prefer, solid uptempo northern, midtempo, ballads, crossover, 70s, etc. so from a uptempo northern point of view: melba moore - magic touch played to death i know but putting that aside it's one of the finest examples of what northern soul is about (IMHO)...

not everyone's after the first issues only, some collect more obscure issues or even UK IMHO the ones to have is the one you first come across, be it minit, UK london, imperial or whatsoever legal release. all 3 releases are collectable, no matter which one was the first. i mean 1962-1964, what's two years difference after 40+ years?
  14. Benji replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
that's correct, imperial one is dog rare and was either immediately withdrawn or a mispress. going by the number of copies around the latter is more likely

nice one is it the album version mentioned? and which album did it come from?
  16. ah! didn't know it was "reproduced" so it's the original US E.P. that came with a picture cover ...
  17. i never knew it came in coloured vinyl but i knew it came with a picture sleeve (actually never seen it for sale w/out sleeve), only way to get it on 7" isn't it?
  18. anyone with a copy of the counterfeit bootleg of jerry fuller - double life on challenge (white label/red lettering/gold logo) for me? PM please TIA
  19. white demos are sure out there somewhere, i once had 5-6 white demo copies and flogged them @10 or 15 each...
  20. giving it u gentle bump... i'm sorted now with a medium quality mp3 of alfie davison, so just need curtis to finish the CD for the missus. anyone? BTW, still wouldn't mind a good quality mp3 of alfie davison... TIA
