Plenty of previous topics about that. No need to open another one, isn't it?
  2. I don't like it. But others do, fair enough. But no soul night/allnighter material tho.
  3. I remember both Constellations 45 were mentioned in Shades of Soul somewhere in the mid 90s and tipped to go massive again. "I didn't know how to" got plenty of spins in the late 90s/early 2ks, many copies available but price went through the roof. I paid 25 quid for it and tried to get a copy of "i don't know about you" as well but no luck. very hard to find at that time.

  5. erm, post #4
  6. President Germany releases were pressed and distributed by Ariola, the cat number's 'AT' suffix is the clue. Jay Boy were either pressed/distributed by a major or even a sub-label. The cat numbers don't have the 'AT' suffix so it's not Ariola. Have to check my collection at home to come up with more details BTW, there were two different label designs of the US Jay Boy issue of Doris Willingham.
  7. At least he following releases came out in Germany: Jay Boy 1 Doris Willingham (aka Doris Duke) Jay Boy 2 Shadrocks Jay Boy 12 EK Bunch There are probably more I can't remember right now.

  13. Russell, how about contacting Tim Ashibende? He did the interview with Paul Kyser for TRACKS TO YOUR MIND back in the 90s. Maybe he knows more about Robby's background?
  14. Benji posted a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Was told about some scratching in where the break is, but had put that down as urban myths. I stand corrected. D*ckheads.
  15. Two flipsides from me. Not ultra-rare/obscure tho. Both very nice midtempo/beat ballads: Melvin Elling - Love's Road (flip to lonely eyes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYjYDCWLtwA Porgy & Monarchs - If it's for real (flip to That girl): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJAwof4oNPc
  16. And before that it was on the Black Music is Our Business Kent LP. The whole "Spoon in London" LP is worth buying. Many great tracks incl "Man don't cry" which is LP only.
  17. Indeed here we go again. You posting the same old cr*p.. Give it a rest, will you?
  18. Cynthia & Imaginations on blue rock?
  19. You're not seriously trying to compare 1967's prices with today's prices, are you?
  20. And that's one of the main reason why boots sell as much as they do these days. People can't/aren't willing to spend 100's on tunes that are actually not rare at all.

  22. Says someone who was happy to post on this thread again and again and again and again ...
  23. Isn't it about time to give this thread a rest? I mean everything had been said already, though obviously not by everyone...
  24. I bought that CD when it came out in 2005 but haven't played it for years. Just dug it out again and listened to the Newcomers track. As you say, it's wonderful. Thanks for posting that.
  25. Sounds good in theory. But realistically such a sub-forum will go down the "endless discussion" road. There's no such thing as "The price" today.
