Has Sandy Golden On Masterpiece Been Booted?
Many pressing plants offered rather generic label designs if customers didn't have their own. I guess that's the reason why many of the early SS boots look rather amateur-ish.

Instrumentals
IMO many mix up proper instrumentals and instrumentals that are just backing tracks of well known Northern Soul records. I really like the proper ones whereas the latter ones don't do it for me most of the time. Don't know if this was already posted but it's one of my top favourite proper instrumentals. They hardly can get better than this one. Chaumonts - Now you've gone.

Wanted: Georgie Fame ... Somebody Stole My Thunder
There's also a LP only Version with an extra verse. Some" Best of" compilation.

Chris Clark - Do I... Auction
credible yes. soulful? not really. As good as it is, eventually it's just an alternative blue-eyed version of a fantastic song* * I know FW is played to death and any dj/punter playing/dancing to it is guilty of necrophilia.

Kim Weston - You Hit Me Where It Hurt
Thanks!

Shrine Collection In Sales
Neither do I. Not saying it's not possible but the vocals are different. And the backing on the acetate sure doesn't sound like a Shrine production. @Marc: Any evidence it's the same group?

Chris Clark - Do I... Auction
If the TP really came from the ARP plant I guess it has a ARP stamp in the run out.

Professionals On Groove City - New Bootleg?
Dave, Johnny Watson = yes, some tried to pass it off as a 60s press. Four Voices gold always been advertised as represses from the same stamper (AFAIK). It's not the first time the alt take of Professionals is reissued. So I don't think it will kill the track now. Or do you guys think it's different this time because it's on a lookalike?

Rare Uk Soul: Curtis Lee (Cbs) / Hoagy Lands (Stateside)

Essential 12"s
Isn't that a double album? If so I think I got it hidden somewhere in the record room. Must have a look tonight.

Professionals On Groove City - New Bootleg?
Just a thought but maybe the 45 take isn't on any of the tapes?

Professionals On Groove City - New Bootleg?
I can't recall the orig 45 take of the Professionals being reissued on any kind of format. I agree with Pete, none of the reissued takes (if there were more than one) sound as good as the 45 one.

Professionals On Groove City - New Bootleg?
Didn't know that. Are they counterfeits? And if so, what's the difference. Might buy one of them just to give my recordless Dearborn sleeve some use

Kim Weston - You Hit Me Where It Hurt
No. unreleased. Don't know if genuine acetates do exist. I know of at least one homemade one.
