Hi Hammy, hope you are alright ! Don`t think the Fortson Scott went too cheap cinsidering it was only EX. Mint - usually changes hands for around 1200 UJKP doesn`t it ? Marc

Make me an offer please....mint minus copy.... Marc
  3. You are right, one look can already easily tell...its a repro. Wonder why the info about the run out groove were okay though as the repros (done in the eighties) show differently made details. Maybe John overlooked this being a repro or just didn`t knew himself better ? Knowing John I don`t understand there is a problem, did you try to ring him and try to get your point over "quite" and "peacefully" ? I am sure he will refund you... Marc
  4. Did the ebay scan show the repro or the orig ? Marc
  5. Best thing about it is he can most easily sign 600 records a day...so that would make a nice income

Well, I tried to play it...had it in me box for several months. Something is missing in this nice tune IMO so that kept me from keeping and playing it. Its a cheapie right, but I think its one of the rarer things to have come out of NOLA. Marc

Why has that gone up in price, demand thru airplay ? Sure was never any rarer than his "Love-Itis" or others ? Sold it some years ago and was struggling to sell this. His "Tryimng To Survive" is a whole different story though raritywise... Marc

One of the tunes Butch played last night at the Hip City...sounded so so great ! Marc
  9. By trying to avoid the obvious and thinking of current plays (ie records I do try to play every time I get the chance to) I can think of this little bunch Ralph Jackson "Just Can`t Leave Your Love Alone" RaJac Perk Badger "I`ll Take My Chance On You" Hit Bound Mal Adams "Since Man Began" Emerge James Winfield "Man In Love" Trend Lee Moses "Never In My Life" Dynamo Buddy Cantrell "You Ain`t No Good" TUSKA Soul Brothers SIx "Oh I Need You, Yes I Do" Lyndell
  10. Well, I am German... ...ah real patriotic one too and a sense of humour I got too
  11. that is the exact reason. although after 25 years of rare Soul in Germany the "nostalgia" thing is also starting here and there.. Marc

there were "recekty" two beaten up copies on ebay. the first went for sth like that in vg, the other one (cracked9 was cancelled. Can`t remember having seen a minter for sale in the last say 5 years. God knows what that would go for....hopefully not 800 as I wouldn`t mind a mint copy myself. Knwo where there is one in Berlin though
  13. Unbelievable, he really had them (out of stock now) so Pikeys dog really seems to got hold of real bargain. Seldomly that Mr. Moere makes such a mistake. Demo only I suppose. A dead rare 45. When for sale goes for 250 UKP plus... Marc

The signed ones are the second releases, repros, bootlegs, legal new releases...oh we better don`t get into this again .
  15. Both parts of your post I can only answer with: yes and the secret is in the provided sound files...if a person doesn`t know the song a soundtrack will not only create his/her interest it will also help to get the bids high...seen this all before, haven `t we. See start of this thread, the tune was "unknown" but provided with a soundfile "will this be the next big thing ?" was the question born out of the fact it was "unknwon" and the soundfile (at least to the person who started this thread) sounded good enough to ask this particular question. There will always be people who once bought it before way cheaper as well as there will always be people who will say "this is crap, the worst 45 I have ever heard bla bla bla etc." Same was with the Parliaments "This Is My Rainy Day" first copies really cheap and later some said "Ah, can`t understand all the fuzz, ain`t really such a great tune" Each to their own. I for myself like it big style Marc
  16. Hi Chalky, the 1500 UKP was a private sale just recently and another private sale for even more you know who you have to ask to get full details And yes, it filled the floor, Lifeline, Germany, also in Sweden and Spain Marc

Roscoe Gordon on the current 145heaven list ( and on ebay quite regulary)...got mint minus Ernestine eady on Scepter for you if you want, pm me. Marc
  19. last one went for over a 1500 UKP And in fact sounds fantastic at home as well as at an allnighter
  20. I guess nothing as it already tells you more then enough as most people in Germany as in and the rest of the Continent seem to have more taste and are much more open minded as the majority of people attending allnighters in England. One of the reasons people like Arthur Fenn, Dave Thorley and Butch to name just only three enjoy deejaying over here so much you joker.
  21. Nth unusual as the second last Ghetto Boys on ebay had no bids at all and the last copy went a week ago for only just 334 USD... Ebay seems to have still a potential to grow...still a lot cllectors seem to be not aware of it ?
  22. Well, I have been playing this since six months now and it never ever (!) cleared the floor. It even filled it (Bamberg Weekender in May this year). Its definitely not a garage record as the b-side is a very nice midtempo group record. This record also features a very nice horn break. A "great" new 45. Each to their own, but it definitely is a very nice new record for anyone who wants to play a new black Soul 45 in his set from time to time. I won`t tell you now who was this "top" UK DJ who paid top banana, but I can tell you that at the moment more then one DJ in the UK are behind this 45. Marc
  23. I remember "someone" telling me a "handful" of people reserved and ordered the whole stock beforehand. And now (from the start on to be precise) no copies were and will be available unless you have "access" to this group of people (but rest assured in a few weeks time the first will crop up on ebay making 275.73 USD, after that it will cool down to say 66 USD... Same situation when a small amount of a so-called rarity turns up...the same old handful of people get them offered... For gods sake THIS WAS INTENDED TO BE A NEW RELEASE. Some times the way this scene is intended by some to work really sucks. Good record. Bad practise. Marc
  24. To state it once again clearly: This copy I have is vinyl- and sleeve wise in better condition as the one first for sale here by docfish. Still the price is the same as when docfish reduced from 100 UKP to 75 UKP Some did not understand M rc
