  1. 'ditto'......Mind you - I can now 'officially declare' it as a floor packer - Thanks to Butch doing the business with it again at Life-line last Saturday 'You're welcome' btw lol Len
  2. Dunno, but I thought he looked pretty cool (Not ironic btw) Right, time to get ready for Life-line......now what to wear?..... All the best, Len

There was a fantastic piece about young people in Manifesto magazine years ago, written by the 'one and only' Mr Potato Head. It included them having to hide behind a bush on the other side of the road from the venue, and look at the queue for at least 6 months before even thinking about joining it!.....Be great if someone could post the article up.......I'll start wading through my pile of mags.......Hang on that don't read quite right All the best, Len P.s - Young people don't need, or ask for any help - The gooduns will find their own way (respectfully)
  4. One of those records that I understand people liking (especially those from 'back in the day') but always gave me a head ache - Meant in the nicest possible way All the best, Len

Huh - How times have changed........I thought it was a 30 year apprenticeship - Blo*dy government getting rid of City and Guilds Len
  7. ......very true...... I think what people can't handle (Have to include myself in this to a point) is that some feel it simply shouldn't be seen to keep it underground........along with all those good looking young people of course! I'll look forward to reading tomorrows 'papers' Night night. Len
  8. Congratulations Alison - Your positivity seems to have worked! Good on ya girl! All the best, Len
  9. Welcome to 'cutting edge' Len
  10. .....no it's not Len
  11. The vat is worked out on the quarterly buying and selling of that period (3 months), but 'for arguments sake', John is correct on his vat summery (give or take) So what's the general opinion folks? - Which is better 'I don't Know About You, or I Didn't Know How To'? Answer - 'I Didn't Know How To' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZQRFuAdVoM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mX7cHcSSvpw&feature=kp .......Actually, now I've had another listen.......I'm not sure again
  12. .....and Wellingborough.....20 years later..... Len

Great record! (I got it cheap) Len
  14. They had the very early copies, I'm sure Carl said he got his from John Anderson (I could be wrong) I heard Gary Spencer play it at The Fleet All-nighter, which influenced me to get a copy. It cost me £70.00, plus 'Joanie Sommers - Don't Pity Me'. I remember ringing Pat Brady up to double check if it was a fair deal Still a great haunting record which I never tire of hearing. Len
  15. .....Ok just the one then (as the thread subject seems to have run it's course now) Len 'Bull & The Matadors If You Decide' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj5j3KTF-Vk
  16. .....and a very rare one Dave! Len
  17. 'Strange Intros' - That could be a good separate thread (It may have already been done) All the best, Len
  18. ....In 'The Den' ......Ged it?....Pride......No? Oh ok.....that was a cheap 'plug' Dead right about the dance floor mate.....we are now managing to empty it most of the time.....well, up until Brian Goucher D.J's, and spoils everything.....when will he learn?! All the best, Len
  19. Nice one - There's still plenty of tunes that people who have never had a break are yet to hear.....I can never understand when I read things like...."It's over, there's no more records to be discovered"......So to quote Phil T...."We have a 50 year back catalogue to choose from!".......There's plenty more enjoyment to get out of that little lot All the best, Len
  20. I like 'dodgy' intros (All part of the fun) - Here's another one All the best, Len 'YOUNG HEARTS- I'VE GOT LOVE FOR MY BABY' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umTlXx6EYkk
  21. I had the same thought - If some of the awful R 'n' B records that I have heard out are being played instead of records like this.....well, there's no helping us..... I.M.H.O - Lets keep it nice and friendly folks All the best, Len P.s - 'Paultp' - I have to admit it does sound better over a big system, but I like the 'messiness' of it.....Let us know if you change your mind about it, as that would be interesting - Some records don't 'grab ya' straight away.
  22. Fair enough mate - You gave it a go. I know exactly what you mean on the 'rare / expensive, so it must be good' bollox that 'clogs' up the Scene - Personally I fell in love with this record in the 80's off that beloved tape - I've never been influenced by price / rarity.......but, there's no denying that if you have a great record AND it's a bit exclusive, that does give it that 'bit of magic' in addition to the sound......There I've said it All the best, Len P.s - Listen to it again (you're wrong you know) .....Just kidding
  23. Unfortunately our last car (Theresa's Chrysler) ((c/w Tape Player)) blew up!....and now the whole family are running around in my works transit van (no tape player)....due to this damn recession! We were just sorting boxes of tapes today actually, as we're 'defragging' the house (The kids are 'at the next stage').....So, look out for more of my 'Cover Ups' that simply got played for two weeks in the 80's, to be played as 'first time outs' in 'The Den'! All the best, Len P.s - If, I find out what the f*ck they are called
  24. Indeed he did - See post number 275 on this link (and a couple of Romona Collins comments after) Not an acquired taste at all, and dead easy to dance to (in my 'humble' opinion of course) Soul Sam, Arthur Fenn, Kitch, Butch, and others have had the record for many years - It's a cracker! All the best, Len P.s - In 'again' on a Sat night.....looking forward to Life-line....
