  5. I'm very much with you too on that Dave, I'm personally not too worried about proffesional stickers or writing, & I definitly play my records at home for pleasure, what I was getting at were labels that are damged, with credits affected, I'm with you with normal aging & even a bit of rub or slight water damage even, but when credits or artwork are badly affected, it would be nice if it could be improved. Russ
  6. I'm looking for a copy if anyone wants to sell....would be prefer Tiny, but would settle for Rouser...anyone ???
  7. I think you are right where we know there are multiple copies available of a disc, some of which are in reasonable condition, but when you are talking about extremely, genuinely rare discs where there are only a handful of known copies, it would be very nice to know if anything other than a DIY job can be done to restore it to near to its original beauty, label wise. Using the art analogy, if you had found a previously unknown rare painting by a collectable artist, the art world wouldnt say buy a cheaper painting in better condition. I think its a valid question that deserves a little more thought..... Best Russ
  8. Thanks guys - was just a thought...
  9. I think this has been touched upon within other threads, but I dont think it has ever been covered properly in its own thread. Basically, can record labels be restored/improved proffessionally by a specialist who might normally restore art work or old documents ???....has anyone ever tried this, or even invesigated the possibility & what was the outcome. Many thanks Russ

I know absolutely zilch about this really, but always assumed TMG = Tamla Motown Group ?. Russ
  11. I quite like that TBH...but it aint Willie....
  12. The ironic thing is, that Ian obviously has some talent for this kinda thing, I'm not a great fan of everything he has ever produced, but there are odd things I really like too, within context. I cannot understand why he doesnt seek out a young Josh Stone, Duffy, Eli Paperboy Read, James Hunter type & do something contemporary, with a soul twist on them, he would be brilliant at that & possibly end up with a hit record on his hands, instead it seems he is obsessed with trying to get one over on the Rare Soul Scene ?, I really would think that he should be above all of that now, in the bigger picture we are minute, compared to the potential audience & earning power of going down the contemporary release route. I'm puzzled as to why he always seems to come back to us in the end, when he could actually be a Louis Walsh type & be very successful at it too, with his producung talents, knowledge & connections he easily could have had a string of artists & hit records & even been on X Factor now........& I mean that seriously. Russ
  13. Do you think this latest set of dodgy records etc, is some attempt at a legacy, a last gasp at some kinda lasting notoriety...or just the usual attention seeking ???. Russ
  14. Ernestine Eady....OMG what a f*ckin sound...one of my 'sell a body part to finance records'...would love to own this one day.... Russ
  15. Nat T Jones was played very briefly at Cleethorpes is my understanding, but dropped pretty swiftly once the boot hit the streets & I can understand why it could have been popular there TBH.... Russ
  16. I quite like it, but puzzled as to how it would have gone down back in the 7ts at t'Casino et al....would not have thought that it would have fitted in at all back then ??? Russ
  17. Ila Vann/Sue Lynn....lol
  18. Thats about all I can remember off the top of my head Pete... Russ
  19. I was pretty lucky with mine too mate, had it for years & paid £200....FAB record tho innit...
  20. Brilliant photo Andy, thanks for posting it. Hope you are well BTW. Best Russ
  21. Phewww I was pretty certain these were different groups. The MBS Ascots is a Miradon production, so the same group as on Miradon, I also assume the Ascots on J&S - What Love Can Do - are the same group as as on Mir a Don, as they are NYC based. For information, James Kelly Duhon - Graveyard Creep/Talmadge Armstrong - Color Me Soul, both from the Crazy Cajun LP, came out on Jetstream also, one on one side, one on the the t'other of the same 45. Russ
  22. Was Talmadge Armstrong in the Mir a Don, MBS Ascots group...???...sorry if im being thick...
  23. Is it the same group, I didnt think it was, the Mir a Don/Crazy Cajun group... It may have been recorded earlier (?), but wasnt released until the late 7ts....
