  1. It's now a worldwide market. There are a lot of young hotboxers who would rather pay large sums for in demand records than have a roomfull of 10 pound records. Most of the top 500 records are expensive because they are bloody good and they have more people chasing them.I sell on discogs and it's not just soul.I sold a music from Follyfoot lp the other day for Fifty quid!! It's a good time for vinyl in general...will it last??? I can only afford big records when my.paypal account tops up from discogs sales.
  2. Probably Game Players-Dooley Silverspoon...................cant be Shake N Bump...too out of fashion.
  3. I have a two one sided pressings without a cover with handwritten credits.
  4. vg and above condition please.PM Me your price. Thanks
  5. Im sorted for this.Got a copy from Dave Raistrick.
  6. It's Mike Redway you are after released here in the UK on the Deram label. On another note I have an unreleased take of this on acetate with a counting intro which is not on the soundtrack and is not Redway.
  7. I remember seeing a doc on a racist skinhead in the late 80s early 90s and he said he used to be into northern soul. There's also a lad with a blood and honour t shirt on one of those RSG videos i posted up...he's on there coming through the doors.Bizarre.
  8. Vg and above original copy please.Pm me
  9. Okeh original issue or demo wanted to buy vg and above condition.Immediate paypal.PM Me
  10. The top teapot dancer was Johnny Timlin...this is from the eighties/nineties though although I wouldn't be suprised if that was the inspiration as the other character who dies in the car crash was a a complete rip off of Sean Adams...complete with van.
  11. Yep a ballpark year would be good....I do remember when I got this tape these were current records...some good oldies mixed in as well. The Lewis sisters always cracked me up.
  12. Another old tape upload of 90's biggies. Can anyone narrow this down to a year. https://www.mixcloud.com/kevin-johansen/northern-soul-90s-biggie-name-that-tune-3/
  13. Here's the second tape. This has got an inlay card with prices next to it........but it's virtually unreadable. Would love to know who did this one.I'm sure it's very early 90s https://www.mixcloud.com/kevin-johansen/northern-soul-name-that-tune-2-compilation/
  14. Out and about at the moment.I will collate the tracklisting.I have found the priced sales tape.It will be harder than this one I think.
  15. That's the one doing my head in and I wouldn't mind a copy.
  16. Thanks everyone.I have a few more of these I'm going to transfer.I do miss people doing tapes.I have a few priced sales tapes somewhere with ficticious titles so you couldn't hunt the records down cheaper.Proper skullduggery.
  17. Just transferred this from an old tape.....there is no tracklist though. Can anyone name the tunes.I can't even remember who I got it frrom.
  18. Look through the back page of Echoes....yes one or 2 pages and that was what was on in the Uk.
  19. The only things that i can remember in the eighties and nineties were the thing on Morecambe with John Vincent,Whistle Test Blackburn,Keb Darge dancing to Sweet Darling advertising clothing,Chasing Rainbows Phil Dick and the Danny Behr piece about a butchers son liking his dads music. Not much for 20 years. All were great apart from Dani Behr's and were reflective of the scene then as it was. Oh and the piece on Stafford.
  20. I always thought the good stuff was mid tempo northern.
  21. VG Plus and above original copy wanted.PM me
  22. Just uploaded this old tape to youtube
  23. VG or above copy wanted.PM Me
  24. A lot of the instrumentals were lifted from.easy listening lp's which were made for the American ma and pa to try and get down with the kids.Lord Sitar Black is Black and Paint It Black were from The Folkswingers lp.The Camel's Strings It's Too Late was another. Can't remember the lp and The Total Eclipse lp brought us 6 o'clock or Supertime.
  25. I think it was a great idea.Gave you a flavour of what was being played.I revived it for one of my flyers about 4 years ago and Dave Evison said he had not seen it since the early eighties. The standard of flyers today is shocking,Scooters and targets with owls.Photoshop has a lot to answer for.I even saw an advert for a £30 soul weekender at Scarborough with no deejays advertised. What is that about?.
