  1. Yes funnily enough I had a tape from Tony Warot way back around 77/78 with Fats then Bobby Bland. Strange! Must have been something I guess. However I DO recall RS playing Fats to end his spot. As I said I am almost certain RS used to have the last spot on the Sat morning as well.
  2. I like something like Herb Ward Strange Change. Nice easy start which builds and builds. As for Fats Domino It Keeps Raining. That was played by RS at WC oldies nights to end his spot. Also I seem to recall that he often ended the nighter doing the last spot in the morning with Fats rather than the usual 3 before 8 which was the Sat night domain. Confused you will be.
  3. You are very naughty Pete.
  4. Recently sold a copy of Bari Track. I DID notice something etched in the run out. Turned out I sold it to the guy who owned it 30 years ago AND it was his name on the run out groove.
  5. I know I know. I dont even recall WHY we had Wife Swap on.Not something I would normally view to say the least. Sorry people I hang my head in shame.
  6. That WIFE SWAP programme played the Delites Lover during the segment when the 2 couples reunite and talk about the swap at a hotel.
  7. Heard a great story from Pete Smith about the Twans. Slade were doing a gig either on a cruise ship or around the Carribean. The support act were the Twans according to Noddy Holder. I think thats how Pete said it. Over to you Pete.
  8. I think this missing BBC footage was actually owned by one of the camera men at the time. I saw the Bowie footage just recently on TV and the cameraman was trying out a new technique and wanted to keep a copy. That is what the comments banner said on screen. The cameraman did,nt realise that the footage was unique and has ( it stated) got lots of hours of stuff which he is releasing. I assume to the beeb. Hope that helps in some way?
  9. There is a Bunny Sigler Girl dont make me wait on the latest Anglo American list.
  10. Alan Pollard got Chuck Cockerham Have I the right on Mala in a Soul Bowl soul pack. Back in the day.
  11. I did,nt know I liked crossover. Just had a look at the previous thread and I seem to own most of the tunes listed. So I like crossover now. Damm.
  12. Bernie Williams was issued on Bell. Ginger has one and there is one for sale with Pete French. Bloody rare all the same. How many Billy Woods do we reckon there are? I have one and I sold one about 1985, these are not the same copies. So any takers at a guess?
  13. I remember in 1980/81 playing it at Southlands Soul Night in Stockport.A lad called John from Biddulph owned it and let me play it. I sold my first copy to Pete French about 2003 maybe, I have since got another copy. Top quality tune.

Yep I was going to both venues then. My money on St Ives.
  15. Watched a programme about Phil Collins making his motown covers album. Couple of the Funk Brothers spoke at length about Golden World and Ed Wingate on the footage. Good stuff. Hope its on topic.
  16. Allnightandy I was just thinking about the Band of Gold instrumental the other day. Always liked it. Someone mentioned Mr Ms opening in the morning after the nighter. Yes thats right. About 77 seems correct. I remember well as I got "invited" to the toilets by two guys I thought were DS. They relieved me of about £100 I had on me. Fool that I was in those days.
  17. One on sale here for $35 today I think.
  18. SORRY BOTH NOW SOLD. Thanks for looking. Steve

  22. Got to endorse Shorty Long Baby wont you come on home.
  23. Well said Pete S. Myself I have always been into the music , but not always active by going out anymore on a regular basis. Each to there own. We all meet people who have claims about being at Station Road or like NS then quote ( maybe Out on the floor or The Snake) as an example. They have their view and thats fair enough. The fact that I like to hear ( maybe Ray Agee or Cecil Washington) in preference dont make me any better or any worse. I still hear a "new" sound and try to get it for myself. That is what keeps me going, well that and viagra.
  24. Now sorted with Fantastic Puzzles. Thanks Mark. SO STILL LOOKING FOR Gwen Davis and the elusive Belles Dont Pretend on New Zealand Action. Thanks Steve
