  1. iPhone 4, mint condition except for tiny tiny dent at bottom, no scratches front or back as has always been in a cover, 16gig, and it's UNLOCKED and jailbroken. Second hand unlocked one like this would cost you upwards of £180 in Game and CEX. Selling this for £135 plus £7 registered post. I can put 3000 or so audio tracks on it as well if required and any apps, sat nav etc.
  2. Loads. I buy in bulk from Soundsunlimited Wholesale. MIles cheaper than anyone else.
  3. Reason I said I didn't want to get into debate about the dates of these records is because yes, they may have been played before, but they were popular in the 80's, that's all. I know you're right Ian / Chalky cos Ian Levine briefly mentions it in Black Music.
  4. No what it was; Preview was a label that advertised song-poem facilities where for a fee, you could send them your poems and (however bad they were) they would make it into a proper record. Rodd Keith was the main artist and recorded hundreds of these records. At least four have the same backing as Like The Lord Said.
  5. Must have been a mega flop then! First person I ever heard play it was Pep on Dave Evison's show
  6. I stopped going there by then so wouldn't have known that - I didn't hear it til the 80's so I'm sure you're right
  7. Never heard that before Jerry, so must have been a different c/u name...or was not covered at all at Wigan
  8. I was going to go through my itunes and list some of the best post-Wigan 45's but there would have been a thousand, this was just the start (am not interested in getting into arguments as to if they were played long long ago, if they were then fine!) 50 VERY LATE WIGAN OR POST WIGAN SOUNDS AS GOOD AS ANYTHING THAT WENT BEFORE ADMIRATIONS — YOU LEFT ME ALEXANDER PATTON — TRUE LOVE IS IN THE HEART ALLEN SISTERS - I’M IN WITH THE DOWNTOWN CROWD ANDREA HENRY — I NEED YOU LIKE A BABY ANITA HUMES — WHAT DID I DO ANN HEYWARD — CROOK HIS LITTLE FINGER ANNABELLE FOX — LONELY GIRL ARCADES — THERE’S GOT TO BE A LOSER BARBARA LEWIS — THE STARS BETTY LLOYD — I’M CATCHING ON BETTY TURNER — THE WINDS KEPT LAUGHING BIG DONS REBELLION — IT WAS TRUE BLENDELS — YOU NEED LOVE BOB & FRED — I’LL BE ON MY WAY BOBBY HUTTON — COME SEE WHAT’S LEFT OF ME BOBBY MAC — SHY GUY BRENDA HOLLOWAY — RECONSIDER BRENDA HOLLOWAY — CRYING TIME CHECKMATES LTD — KISSING HER AND CRYING FOR YOU CHUCK HOLIDAY — JUST CAN’T TRUST NOBODY CLAUDE HUEY — WHY WOULD YOU BLOW IT
  9. Spot you're right about the doo wop and stuff but in the first few years after Wigan, the sounds were incredible, it's just a shame that we didn't have them at Wigan
  10. Round of applause.
  11. Sod this I'm going to Morrison's to avoid watching the Wolves lose.
  12. I think there are more great discoveries found after Wigan than before or during. And that's from a hardcore Wiganite.
  13. Yeah it's relevant to your comment isn't it, you telling people you're not stuck in a time warp (and therefore above all others), well fucking bully for you Bearsy, well done, I bow down to your superior taste in music.
  14. I've never been offered one or had one Phil, very hard to find record
  15. Jock I saw this when it was first broadcast and I know I missed the end because I had to go and get the last bus from my girlfriends house, so this means that it was definitely not on on a saturday (when I'd have stopped over), it was either a sunday or early weeknight.
  16. Must have been a bootleg then cos you're looking at at least £400
  17. I know, and I think you almost agreed with me which was another reason why I was a little confused
  18. Who is saying anything about Northern records having to be fast and have breaks? You. Some of my favourite ever Northern records, Sherlock Holmes - Standing at a standstill, Natural Four, Joe Douglas etc - love to see people doing stupid acrobatics to those...'soul music' like Hamilton Movement leaves me stone cold, but so what, why should you worry about what I and other people like and don't like and come on here and spout off about it as if you're the Lord Of The Dance just leave people alone because your opinion means absolutely f*ck all to anyone except yourself. It's really annoying when certain people come on here and define soul by their own terms and if other people don't agree with it they are somehow inferior or 'dinosaurs' or whatever.
  19. Yeah so am I
  20. I understand that Chalky and I know some terrible records were played, but to say half of the output was crap just isn't right. 5% maybe.
  21. AH I see. Hadn't seen your earlier posts.
  22. Yeah I thought he was great, and really enjoyed the film, just found some of the dialogue a bit tricky to hear
  23. I respect your opinion but find it totally forgettable. I have no idea how it goes despite listening to it yesterday apart from a corny spoken intro.
