Dave, if you could have read Dave McCadden's original Soul Time mag, back in late 76 early 77, he actually mentions that story that Kyp Gainsboro is a dog!

Bass Lines
My favourite bass players, Leroy Sibbles of The Heptones and Studio One session man, some of the incredible bass lines he invented for Studio One that have been used over and over again...and Jah Wobble on PIL's album Metal Box...

John Manship Auction Results 10 - 9 - 2014
Gloria & T-Airas, about right really I think, £400 maybe, I was lucky enough to buy a couple of copies when it was still hardly known (despite it having one Wigan play in 77) but it was £100+ then, 20 years back - in fact I got my first one off Gene Robertson on here as a swap...anyway point being, a very tough record to find. Quality too. I have a very special copy with Lost Soul on the other side

Eric And The Vikings
There's no strings on the Detroit Strings track brilliant instrumental but I just call it the Detroit Rhythm Section

John Manship Auction Results 10 - 9 - 2014
You got a great buy there and it sounds really good - I'd say your version was worth £75 to £100, would have been more but for the clicks in the middle. Having said that I rare a minter at £200 to £250, have to say not had one for years though and never had an issue which I would rate at the price that the auction one went for.

On another thread I said that Servicemen was only worth £100 - £125 but I didn't realise it was one with the labels the right way round. I don't think it's worth what it sold for but it's definitely a rare one.

Panic Is On

Panic Is On
I thought Ady had the acetate years before Kent got the Lou Johnson tapes - I'm talking 1991-ish here

Panic Is On
Oh no! But that's the thing about collecting British, it's just crazy that People - including me- would rather not have the record without a centre than have one with the centre missing - just shows it's nothing to do with the music really and it's more of an obsession.

How, Wow

John Manship Auction Results 3 - 9 - 2014
If you really think Frankie Crocker is worth £400 then you and one other person are out there on your own and it's you who doesn't 'get' it. You honestly think these daft auction prices for common records are the norm? Why? Is the Skullsnaps on UK worth £300 then?

Panic Is On
I really need a UK demo of Roy Hamilton - one of the few British I've never had

John Manship Auction Results 3 - 9 - 2014
I wouldn't take any notice Steve, that's not the real world...Frankie Crocker £200 Servicemen £100 - £125.

How, Wow
You're right Chalky, it can't be more than ten years ago that I sold my own copy for £250 or £300. As for the Yum Yums demo - I sold one in 2009 for £500, it's worth three times that now?

Eric And The Vikings
Brilliant thank you folks, I knew it was familiar, I've got the bloomin' thing on the red vinyl 12" LP
