Too many to remember... Monique Matt Lucas Bernie Williams Sam Williams Moses Dillard - Pay the price Tommy Bush (bought at least 3 of these for under £10) Lou Ragland (sold for £5 to pep) lenny Curtis (sold for £5 at the Old Vic) Vickie Baines issue Dean Courtney MGM issue except nowadays when you can cut your own records for a few quid, it doesn't matter anymore, at least you can get a record to play indoors (or out)

But the astonishing thing about all this is that someone would actually pay more than £10 for this pile of shite. The absolute pits. Makes Wombat sound like a soul classic. 1) he can't sing in tune 2) the instruments are out of tune 3) it's f*cking awful

Then again, it could be worse, on the Detroit Floor Fillers cd thats just come out I've got every track on cd already

I don't know if the material is drying up but the new 50 track cd Golden Age Of NS vol 2 has at 33 tracks that have already appeared on cd. What's the strategy behind this?

Val Palmer on Hit. Also Uptight by Ritchie (Brown?)nd of course jenny & The Jewels version of LILAIIMH
  6. David Balfe?? Surely not of "Teardrop Explodes" fame, he must have only been about 12 years old then! As for where they hear it - same as over here I guess, acetates sent from songwriters to publishing companies and then given to management for their clients.

I might be a day out either side mate, that was some weekend for me cos on the friday I "did it with a lady" for the first time and the next night I went to Wigan for the first time...I was a bit pleased with myself
  8. Off the top of my head, I think the writers were Mason/Reed, I noticed this first time I ever saw the Ted Wilson label, therefore the Jason Cord is the original as these two were major purveyors of 60's UK pop.
  9. I would have definitely had these but I've got to pay for 70 ska records, if they are still there next week, I'll have them

My Heart's Symphony has a very nice string arrangement though

No Steve it was 100% definitely The Supremes, I had the tape I did for years after and played it a lot.

Thats weird, the first time I ever went to Wigan, Evison played that and I couldn't believe it. Still can't ...

Careful with this one though, there's also a brilliant lookalike vinyl boot which is very rare, would pass off as an original except (like the monarch press) it has p.b. in the run off
  15. "Juggs" - top read
  16. I got a copy of Wess Oliver - Keep the faith and there was actually a bit missing from the record that wasn't in the package
  17. A few days maybe. The only DJ I ever heard play it was John Manship (of all people) p.s. in 1972-73 I was 12-13 so couldn't get to many venues unless I saved my dinner money
  18. I was at a match at Molineux in 1982 and for some reason the dj played "Sherry" by Hugo Montenegro!!!!
  19. Nah I don't get it, very poor then and now

No, I thought it would be funny to say "there's no such record" for no reason at all. In fact I laughed out loud when I read it back. Little things please little minds

This is the same as the one I've got. Got a perfect recording of it if anyone wants a dub cut. Personally, I think it's crap.
  22. What was it anyway? p.s. Proberley
  23. Kev, I don't know if this is true but I was told by someone who'd met him that Mr Wiggles was the black equivalent of a redneck and he detested white people!
  24. I like the backing but the singer is awful. Keeps going flat.
