  1. And also - I love reading John's descriptions, they should all be collected in a book.
  2. I think we get that from seeing the crazy prices these people pay for records they could find elsewhere for half what they bid!

    How much????? £25 maybe....
  4. Yeah I've seen it, I think Maslar or Peter knew the name of the program it came from, I've got the clips but not the whole program though.
  5. It reminds me of the backing to Quittin' Time. Yeah not a bad version, might pay £50 for it maybe, but $900, never in a million years - besides, there's only about 3 people left in the UK who could keep up with it
  6. Ah that's harsh, I just listened to the instrumental, beautiful, the second version, phenomenal, and the original version, superb. I think it's the same vocalist on both. And he does a great job on the original as well. Did I ever tell you about the time i 'found' him before anyone else did blah blah blah...

I can't see it but the three titles he mentiones were bootlegged in the 70's as 'test pressings', very few of the Eddie Taylor's got out.
  8. Which one Chris?
  9. So I was right - reissue with fake labels - it'll have a delta number (triangle) 102391
  10. There's a version of "There Goes The Forgotten Man" on UK Liberty. I've seen it. Once. It was in the collection of Paul Walker from Penn, Wolverhampton. Nobody else has ever seen a copy apparently and there are no scans of it anywhere. It's listed in all UK Liberty listings and GM discographies though.
  11. It's Wigan but it's not This England.
  12. Well here's a way to tell. Is there anything on side 2?
  13. There's two possibilities here. One, it's an original. Two, it's the reissue with a good quality photocopy of the original label stuck on it.
  14. Gene McDaniels - Compared To What sounds nothing like him
  15. It's on a Jah Guidance 7" Malc, 1980. I hate this roots shite
  16. Never heard of about 20 of them. Levi Stubbs, Chuck jackson for me
  17. £150
  18. Charles Diamond is the same as Inspirations basically, it's a re recorded vocal, equally as good as the original. We just called that pink label one a 'pressing' but nowadays it would be described as 'an official reissue'. I don't think it ever came out again, and there are only one or two original copies of the first version. Magnificent record.
  19. Update £1250 ends 8pm tonight
  20. I don't know why the price suddenly shot up. 6 or 7 years ago I was regularly selling this for £40, £50.
