Eddie Parker On Manships Site
I remember Chris. He certainly didn't have "I'm Gone" when we saw him. He did have some tidy Detroit pieces, if you remember he played us and Manship off against one another to bump the price of the stuff up, telling both parties the other had offered more. We missed out in the end.

Shocking. All these vocals have one thing in common, including Luther Ingram's own vocal version, they ruin one of the top 3 Northern instrumentals ever made...it doesn't need lyrics, it's just a fantastic slab of music

Mr Day "queen Of The Minstrels
A few years ago I went to see Mick Smith at Wolverhampton record fair and of course he always gets to see everything before the public are let in, so I said did you find me any reggae and he showed me this one solitary blue Coxsone single, except the title and artist had been removed off the label, so I said any idea what it is? Knowing he knows absolutely nothing about reggae of course...anyway he says I can't sell it like that can I, play it and if you like it give us a fiver for it. It was of course a UK original of Queen Of The Minstrels, I managed to keep it for about 3 years I think. I've never seen another in the flesh and a tatty no centre wol copy is the only one I can find on Popsike - £300! Though that is surely the result of fake bidders bumping the price up. The B side, Stars, that's superb as well.

Liz Lands - Rip
It didn't go unnoticed Brian, Ian Levine seems to have been first to break the news

Hey Mate Can't You Play Something Decent Like
I didn't know until the 90's!

Hey Mate Can't You Play Something Decent Like
A great joke but I know it as him asking for "tits and fanny" (has to be done in a Chinese 'accent')

Bootlegs In Manships New Guide?
Think they usually put made up titles and artists. There's one in Tim Brown's guide on the "Pikachu" label
-
The Tempests - "someday"
It's a case of lessening the smell - don't know how to make the acetate smell less strong

Back home - Wolverhampton - been back 11 years this april! Where are you?

It wasn't unreleased mate, it was a 'take someone into the studio and do a new vocal'. If it wasn't, thats what it sounded like.
-
Hey Mate Can't You Play Something Decent Like
Alright mate. Thats one of those - type it - then step away from the keyboard for 2 minutes to make sure you want to post it - type of moments I like all the Kinks Pye albums...

Hey Mate Can't You Play Something Decent Like
Calm down Dekka! Cockney Mick retired 20 years ago. And Gene is a good bloke.

They released another vocal to Exus Trek a couple of years back, can't remember who it was by, it was a girl though

Trojan Records
It's actually by Pat Kelly and I think it's on the Trojan cd "Soulful Love", but I'll have to check that. (Artist credit was such because Bunny Lee sold the track to Pama and Trojan at the same time, Trojan put it out on Jackpot, don't think Pama bothered) * it's on the cd Skinhead Revolt

Rarest Ric-Tic Of Them All What`s It Worth
Oh right, so they only manufactured 20 copies of a Ric Tic record, gave them to band members and their families and destroyed every other copy on earth. You theory sounds SO much better than mine.
