  2. Well said Bechio, very passionate and f*cking spot on with most of that. All these people complaining about the watering down and commercialisation of Northern Soul; it doesn't matter anymore - it would have done 30 years ago but now the scene is just too small and it's getting smaller, eventually it'll disappear if elitism starts to rule again. Okay so theres dance lessons and soul mugs and Frank Wilson watches - but really, so what? How does it actually affect you? Does it do any harm?
  3. Think it came out as a single with Neil Rushton's new book 2 months back, issue and demo
  4. Well done Dave. Ebay not taking any notice of reports sent to them about this item (by me), as par for the course.
  5. Cheers for that. Must be known then (to one or two people)
  6. I'll see if I can get a recording up Glyn, it's definitely 'northern' I'd say from the early 70's.
  7. anyone know this - not in any of the books - pretty good uptempo crossover dancer SONNY BRICEREST - WE GOT TOGETHER / HAPPINESS IS - AZETTA trying to find a value..
  8. No it was recorded in 71 but reissued in 76 on that label Pauline.
  9. I was just about to send the guy this message: It's just a one sided acetate someone had cut to order, they've stuck a label off another ABC release on it, it never got a UK release anyway and it wasn't even discovered until 1977! It's also got nothing to do with Motown, why would it? It's worth less than a fiver, how you've managed to get a bid of £75 on it is just beyond belief but I didn't send it cos I'm not in the mood for an argument this morning, my gout hurts too much LOL if anyone else wants to send it, go ahead!
  10. Anyone see that Bobby Mac - Shy Guy on ebay last night? I thought I'd have a crack at it so I set a snipe up over $350. As the day prgressed I started wondering about it and eventually asked the seller if it was the reissue and he confirmed it was. Guess who forgot to cancel their snipe bid and won it at $288?
  11. I've never had an off centre one. It does sound a bit offcentre mind.
  12. lol no it's brown parcel tape stuck to the cardboard of the recently opened box
  13. Bugs me a bit so I very rarely use it, a record has background noise or clicks but it "ok to dj with". So when you dj with it, do the ba ckground noises and click suddenly disappear as if by magic or something?
  14. Paul, sorry just sidetracking for a minute, is the reason you never put out a DVD of OUATIW because of not being able to get copyright clearance on the music used on the soundtrack? (This isn't a catch question, I'm just still genuinely gutted I never got to see it!)
  15. If anyone needs a nudge in the right direction, Flanny is one of the most professional sellers (and buyers) I've dealt with on here. Well pleased with our transactions.
  16. So have I got the only white demo then?
  17. Yeah I gave her all the broken and hissing styrene ones to play with Rob, around 30 of them
  18. I think one of those went through ebay a few years back. Looks amazing.
  19. Yeah it's got to be rare, think I only got about 25/30 for it.
  20. Phil prepares to listen to his George lemons single for the first time
  21. Sorry, disagree completely, Popsike is completely useless as a price guide because it reports auction results. Two people bid a record up, auction price. Nothing to do with set sale price.
  22. Yes but that's the point - it's the only place to say anything where you can stop the person/victim buying it!
  23. There's at least half a dozen I'd buy but the problem is the usual one, they are priced at more or less exactly what I'd sell them for (therefore they are obviously very reasonable! ). Sometimes I wish I just collected records and didn't just buy them to sell. Jock Mitchell, only ever had that once, fantastic record.
