This is a Yum Yums boot, sorry it's not a super-sharp pic
  2. I ended up knocking £25 off it, down to £100, sold it, then someone came back at the £125 asking price - by which time I'd received the money

This is a yum yums original I scanned for Dave Moore last week
  4. No probs, you got Lynne Randell which I forgot!
  5. How much was it, I couldn't shift mine on here last week at a bargain price!
  6. No he's not, Cornell Campbell is a totally different person to Cecil Bustamente Campbell, he was the lead singer with The Eternals and then a solo artist. No connection whatsoever apart from them both being C. Campbell.
  7. Footnote. Ian Levine asked me to say that he chose The Charades and Gloria Gaynor because it is all about the records that were most influential to the individual, not to the history of dance music and he regards the Charades as the best Northern Soul record ever made and is as proud and unrepentant with his choices as he was when he made the Four Vandals. I am just the messenger.
  8. Are you serious Ian, it's one of the greatest Northern records ever made and thoroughly deserves to be in any top 10 of any music - I can't think of a getter example of the archetypal northern soul track. Change the battery in your deaf aid grandad...
  9. Anyone know all the Northern ones they did? First batch I remember had: dana valery - you don't know where your interest lies otis blackwell -it's all over me the poppies - there's a pain in my heart lou edwards - talkin bout poor folks french fries - danse a la musique the vibrations - cause you're mine i think that was all of them, then there were two weird ones, they don't even look like CSP, especially the first: harry betts - theme from the fantastic plastic machine bobby diamond - stop any more?
  10. Cheers. One on Ebid for $1.
  11. eastside connection - you're so right for me - rampart 12"
  12. Here's a sound sample up on ebay (though it sounds the same as the one above) https://www.auctionplayer.com/streams/strea...2C-020899B00388
  13. Honest? They sound like Jive Bunny put most of them together - things like I'm Not A King, it's as if they just taped two bits of a record together...I've got loads of these and I honestly don't know any which I prefer to an original 7". I can post the norma frazer 7" up but it's scratched to f&ck
  14. Don't like this record and I'll tell you why, this happens with a lot of Jamaican records - if they can't understand the lyrics, they make them up, so on the chrous she is singing "when it comes to being lucky, people" instead of "when it comes to being lucky, she's first". Worst of these is Pied Piper by Rita Marley on which most of the lyrics are wrong. Also this is one of those ridiculous Studio One disco 12" versions which sound like they've nailed 3 bits of a record together to make an extended version.
  15. Similar topic, everyone is fed up of ebay right, but are there actually any alternatives? I thought Amazon did auctions but I've spent ten minutes on the Uk site trying to find it, it looks like there may be one on amazon com but after signing in, the auction tab just takes me back to the sign in again. Very frustrating
  16. 15 quid would be a reissue. Seen the yellow issue going for anything from 75 to 125. The demo is far rarer, I think 150 to 175 for this.
  17. No way can I let you get away with that - yes I do hate the George Hobson record but I do not attack anyone who likes it, I just feel pity for them; "The Camp" record is alright, it's not one of my favourites, the reason I was salivating over it last year is because I'd just picked up one of the only known stock copies and it's a truly rare record - whether it's any good or not was a moot point. I doubt it would make my top 500.
  18. I've heard her saying she liked Northern Soul in interviews going way back
  19. You're being a bully Paul, just because someone went to see it and actually enjoyed it. That's all.
  20. He enjoyed the play, leave him alone for f*cks sake.
  21. He said they were good in the context of the play, not better than the originals...
  22. Remember that guy who wanted to write $400 on the customs declaration on that Stemmons Express I won? There's a thread about it on here somewhere. The self righteous brothers of soul source came down on his side and said it's my own fault for bidding. I say what f*cking difference does it make to him if he writes, $4, $40 or $400. Anyway it ended in mutual negative feedback for both parties.
  23. I've got it on Sevens as well.
