    Spellbinders - help me - Direction - £100????
  2. I think you are completely mistaken here. It was available at every outlet selling northern and by mail order, I bought it from pep's shop where it waspriced at £1.25 like all the other current pressings. It's common.
  3. No but it's always been classed as a pressing/reissue as it was released due to northern demand for the original

I didn't care then and I don't care now, I just wanted to hear the sounds!
  6. They even steal my own jokes
  7. I'm sure he is, but who is he?
  8. I like that as well!
  9. It's a long running joke on here about me and the carstiars record, I've been saying it on soul source for four or five years and there are numerous photographs of me and the carstairs record - well the remaining pieces of it after I smashed it with a hammer p.s. it's sh*t

On the odd occasion in 1978, I would sit on stage next to Keith Minshull when he was doing his spot and he would bring out acetate after acetate i.e. bootleg after bootleg (around the time of Tough Girl, Stemmons Express) and do you know, not one person ever said anything to him...and this is at the 'home of northern soul'
  11. Where does the soul bit come in???
  12. Me too, already asked if theres any way to turn html off and just have plain text
  13. I never thought it would happen but just now I heard a record that is even worse than It Really Hurts Me Girl by The Carstairs. In fact it has it's own thread elsewhere. ZZ & Co - Gettin ready for the get down. I wanted to projectile vomit on first hearing, I managed to stick it out for about 40 seconds, but I still feel unwell now. If someone was to play this followed by Dutch Robinson and tell me they were ground breaking Wigan classics I think I'd have to decapitate them. Even worse, imagine Searling playing ZZ & Co, Dutch Robinson and larry Houston in a row. I'd have walked out and never gone back if I hadn't stopped going already. WORST RECORD EVER.
  14. Yeah it's great, well I like both versions to be honest. This Champion vocal thing is starting to fall into the "so bad it's quite good" category. Anyone notice how absolutely FANTASTIC the recording of The Champion sounds on this though, it's as if it's been surgically enhanced!
  15. And you people part with good money for this? You must be f*cking mad.
  16. Thats way too much, I sold one for £40 not long ago on British and it was a tough one to sell as well
  17. Jock mentioned the Capitol 45, this is absolutely brilliant and should be snapped up without hesitation: "I'll Make You happy", a superb beat ballad of the highest order. Personally, I love his version of Never Love A Robin...
  18. Why?
  19. He had singles on two other labels though!
  20. could you also add must be in black lettering, 10 pitch? (or is there a way to see everything plain text and html?)
  21. And I've had 3 demos and 1 issue, so what does that prove? Now the demo of At The Discotheque is harder than the demo of Just Don't Know but it's only worth, what, £50?

Did you say £117? Not £17? F*cks sake.
  23. Well it was more like a wedding reception than a soul do and they would have danced to anything...all the grannies were up on the floor dancing to The Snake as well
