What Is Northen Soul Part Blah Blah
I thought the question was - What is Northern soul? Answer: A Type of music liked by a bunch of Dafties who dance like a goat having an epleptic fit, to records spun by Djs who who pay ridiculously large sums of money for a piece of old plastic that comes from somewhere Ive never heard of! And dont we just love it! better than sex it is! (Well it is is for me due to the fact I aint getting any sex- that is) Furthermore Ill tell you what I play in my Attic ! Motorhead/Montrose/ Black sabbath/ Pink Fairies etc and the neighbours love me! Tell the person in question to wake up instead of dreaming about Wigan casino

Moral Question Regarding P&p
Is it morally acceptable to make money out of fellow Sourcers for P&P. I recently got a record from someone on here who charged me £1.50 for P&P (I know its not much but this one is a question of principle) The record came just between 2 flimsy pieces of cardboard and had a large envelope stamp on it (47p) or has recently gone up a bit. No proper record mailer and not recorded delivery which is what I usually do for £1.50 P&P I know its a done thing on ebay but is it morally right to do to fellow sourcers?

Soul Sams Article In Manifesto
Although I feel this is throwing the dummy out of the pram area I have to admit that to make comment on somewhere you have not been is dubious. To make comment on another persons view however is acceptable and therefore this is where this story crosses and I think you will never find a happy medium in this case. What if sam for the last 20 years had never played amellow sound but nothing but stompers (even new ones) then I think your opinion might be different. I have to agree with others- this appears to be the old one of Classic oldies (of which some crossover come into this category) and progressive soul . Mind you Kev would you like to answer the question - Have you ever refused to pay the Dj cos he cleared the floor for most of the set if not all?

Your Top Record Ever! One Desert Island Disc
Bat Out of hell was produced or mixed by Todd Rundgren who played on some tracks and co-wrote some. The Title Bat out of hell -came from a song in the Album by Todd rundgrens Utopia(Adventurers in Utopia) "Shot in the dark" Last verse last line - Mama took off like a "Bat out of Hell" Just some useless musical information that I need my arse kicking for!

Frank Wilson / Sonny Daye
But if its in JMs price guide shouldnt it be offers around that! Just because a record hasnt been seen for abit of time doesnt automatically mean it should be "An offers" record or you will get every Tom dick or harry doing it on anything - Just because one person says they havent seen it for a while! The number of times someone on here says "Its a hard one" or "Not seen that often" etc etc is embarrasing when guess what a number of copies had been sold in previous months or were currently up for sale or a few days later 2 copies came on the market. Someone recently put up a clip of a record and said it wasnt easy to find. Guess what - went on gemm and their were several copies for sale! P.S Sonny Daye is a lovely record though!

Best Dance Floor @ Northern Soul Venue ?
Have to agree with Dave on this one as the Ritz in manchester in the 70s. When the French fries came on - if you sat down it was like being on a trampoline! Very dissapointed some 20 years or so later when I wen there and the place had been restructured. ThemMecca was pretty good as well as long as you got out of the way of Epic sliding from one side to the other! When I was young Joe Turners dancing academy was pretty good The worst Ive ever seen has to be Grasshoppers in Preston- The concrete Pillars make it really dicey for doing spins etc or you get amouth full of concrete if you get it wrong

Ray Pollard - The Drifter

Who Got That Then
I Lost out on it but its only £100 in Manships so this was about a fair price! What was the point of the post please as I dont understand your question!

Ray Pollard - The Drifter
I actually prefer the Long John Baldry version to the Ray Pollard which I think musically is quite sparse compared to the LJB version. Im not saying the Rp is not good I just like the extra strings etc in the LJB version. Didnt realise it was that rare Pete- I found the Lp in an old Hospital that had closed and then got rid of it when I got the 45. Whats the value then on a LJB? Regards Steve

Oldies That Still Lift You Up
Sapphires- Got to have your love OOOOOOOOH BAAAAAAABY! Yep that lifts me up!

Original Vinyl Only ?
Peter your absolutely right- but Im not sure the music industry is interested in 40 odd year old tunes- I wish they would because the promoters would then be fined thousands and that would be one way of getting rid of these nights that play boots. Actually the recent adverts using things like Come on train is useful in this area as(playing the boot) it infringes the licence obtained by the advert company to use the music and they could sue the promoters who play the boot. The grapevine ones from the 70s are a different Kettle of fish as they were lincenced by RCA.

Do You Allow The Playing Of Boots At Your Venue
